Lai Chau strives to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses before June 25.

NDO - On the afternoon of April 22, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Lai Chau province held a direct and online conference from the province to the grassroots level to unify the plan, roadmap, tasks and assign specific responsibilities to departments, branches and localities in organizing the implementation; striving to complete the entire Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses before June 25.

Accordingly, up to now, through review, the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Lai Chau province is 7,064 houses (5,831 newly built houses, 1,233 repaired houses). The total funding need is more than 386 billion VND. As of April 19, 4,782 houses have been built (4,046 newly built houses, 736 repaired houses).

The number of undeveloped houses in Muong Te district is 962/1,980 houses, Sin Ho district is 228/1,077 houses, Tan Uyen district is 135/481 houses, Nam Nhun district is 108/782 houses, Tam Duong district is 98/654 houses, Than Uyen district is 28/264 houses, Lai Chau city is 23/62 houses.

Currently, Lai Chau province has mobilized funds to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 6,280 houses, equivalent to 349 billion VND from support sources. The total funding gap is more than 37 billion VND, equivalent to 784 houses. Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has sent a document requesting the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to synthesize and report to the Central Steering Committee to support the provision of additional funding to continue implementing the program.

During the implementation of the program, there were still some difficulties such as: The number of temporary houses and dilapidated houses in the province is large; the weather and climate at the time of implementation is in the rainy season, affecting the implementation progress; some villages do not have electricity, which also causes difficulties in the implementation process; districts and cities have added or reduced many subjects; many households do not have enough residential land to rebuild their houses; current residential land does not meet the requirements...

Based on the assessment of the Provincial Steering Committee on the implementation process; difficulties and obstacles in implementation at the grassroots level, at the Conference, the Steering Committee proposed solutions such as: Focusing on promoting propaganda work; Steering Committees of districts and cities continue to organize and launch the movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the second phase of 2025 in the area and simultaneously organize launching ceremonies to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in communes, wards and towns.

Speed ​​up progress, resolutely implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, ensure and exceed progress; implement support to ensure democracy, publicity, fairness, transparency, and the right subjects; promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, actively participating in the implementation of the program...

Timely remove difficulties and obstacles to simultaneously start construction of 2,282 houses in districts that have not been implemented yet, simultaneously starting construction in April 2025 to complete and put into use before June 25 as directed. Timely propose and remove difficulties beyond authority to ensure the set progress.
