Kim Thanh district has a favorable location for economic, cultural and social exchanges with regions inside and outside the province. Currently, the locality has 3 industrial parks including Lai Vu, Phu Thai, Kim Thanh.

Lai Vu and Phu Thai industrial parks have an occupancy rate of over 90%; Kim Thanh industrial park is leveling the ground and building infrastructure. In addition, the district also has 4 industrial clusters that are 100% occupied.

In 2024, Kim Thanh completed phase 1 of the East-West District Road Project; phase 2 is under construction. The locality also urgently announced the construction of the National Highway 5 interchange in Kim Xuyen commune with a total investment of more than 1,800 billion VND...

With the available advantages, in the planning of Kim Thanh district to 2030, with a vision to 2050, Kim Thanh district is oriented to comprehensively develop industry - agriculture - urban - services with industry as the spearhead, leading the socio-economic development of the whole district. In September 2021, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province decided to approve the construction planning of Kim Thanh district until 2030, with a vision to 2050. In October 2023, the People's Committee of the province decided to adjust the planning of Kim Thanh district until 2030, with a vision to 2050. In adjusting the planning of Kim Thanh district until 2030, the district adjusted and supplemented industrial land in Tam Ky commune; adjusted the planning period of a part of the industrial land area from the period 2031 - 2050 to the period until 2030 in Dai Duc commune to conform to the planning for the development of industrial parks in the province approved by the Prime Minister.

At the end of July 2024, the Provincial People's Committee decided to plan the construction of Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park, scale 1/2000 with a total area of ​​509.13 hectares. Chairman of Kim Thanh District People's Committee Pham Quang Hung said that this is currently the largest industrial park in Kim Thanh District as well as Hai Duong Province. In the total area, there are 437.24 hectares of industrial park planning, the area for studying the planning of infrastructure connection and neighboring residential areas is 71.89 hectares.

On January 22, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed the investment policy decision for the Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park Infrastructure Construction and Business Project (Phase 1) in Hai Duong province. Phase 1 of the project is invested by Hung Yen Investment and Development Group Joint Stock Company; using 234.63 hectares (including the 18.68 ha river area kept intact) in Dai Duc and Tam Ky communes (Kim Thanh). The project has a total investment capital of VND 3,403 billion. The project's operating period is 50 years from the date of investment policy approval.

This industrial park also has a system of convenient public social works including accommodation, commercial services, culture, sports, healthcare, green parks, etc. serving workers and laborers in the industrial park.

The main functional areas include administrative land, industrial park services; land for factories, enterprises, warehouses, planning of industrial land lots; technical infrastructure land; land for police headquarters to ensure security and order, fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and green land.

It is expected that when Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park comes into operation, it will be a supporting industrial park, specializing in the production of supporting industrial products and providing services for this field. At the same time, it will attract investment projects to produce supporting industrial products with high added value. Thereby meeting the demand for investment in industrial production development, accelerating the industrialization process, and creating jobs for local workers.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Kim Thanh district added that phase 1 of the project will be constructed on an area of ​​over 200 hectares. However, in terms of infrastructure, the entire planned area will be developed. The construction of Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park will contribute to expanding the urban development space of Kim Thanh district. The infrastructure of the area surrounding the project will also be expanded, renovated and upgraded to meet the construction and development needs of each phase of the industrial park, contributing to promoting the industrialization and modernization process in the region, improving economic efficiency and social life.

Chairman of Dai Duc Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Thang said that currently the commune has no operating enterprises. The Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park project is the first and largest project ever in the locality. When put into operation, in addition to industrial production areas, the project will also have convenient public social works such as commercial service areas, culture, sports, healthcare, green parks, etc. When Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park comes into operation, it will create many jobs, increase income for local people, and promote the development of service industries and professions.

“We believe that Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park will open up new development opportunities for communes in Zone C in the district in general and Dai Duc commune in particular,” said Mr. Thang.

Ms. Luu Thi Hoan in Kim Doi village, Dai Duc commune, is a worker in Trang Due industrial park (Hai Phong). She hopes that Kim Thanh 2 industrial park will soon be deployed, attracting investment enterprises so that she can move to work near home, without having to travel far as she does now.

It is expected that in 2025, after the state hands over the land, the investor of Kim Thanh 2 Industrial Park project will coordinate with the locality to carry out land recovery and site clearance steps; and implement the project.
