VHO - On the evening of November 19, in Nha Trang City, the Provincial Monuments Conservation Center (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province) organized a program to celebrate the 79th Anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 1945 - November 23, 2024).
Attending the program were leaders and former leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports of Khanh Hoa province; specialized departments and public service units under the Department of Culture and Sports; leaders of the Association for Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Spiritual Tourism of Khanh Hoa province; Khanh Hoa Historical Science Association; leaders and former leaders of the Provincial Monuments Conservation Center; officials and employees of the Provincial Monuments Conservation Center.
At the Program to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 1945 - November 23, 2024), generations of leaders, officials and workers of the Khanh Hoa Cultural Heritage sector in general and the Provincial Monuments Conservation Center in particular reviewed together the memories and achievements in the past time, oriented the goals and tasks in the coming time; at the same time, it was an opportunity to express gratitude to previous generations of leaders, officials, civil servants and workers who have contributed to building and developing the unit to this day.
Speaking at the Program, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Dung - Party cell secretary, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Monuments Conservation Center said: On November 23, 1945, more than 2 months after the country gained independence, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 65/SL, laying the first foundation for the cause of preserving national cultural heritage. Stemming from that meaning and before the requirements of the situation and tasks of the country in the new period; on February 24, 2005, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 36/2005/QD - TTg on annually taking November 23 as "Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day". This is an important milestone, demonstrating respect for cultural heritage and calling on all people to participate in preserving and promoting traditional values of the nation.
In the joyful and proud atmosphere of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, November 23, let us review together to honor the priceless values that our ancestors have preserved and conserved through many generations. This is also an opportunity for us to look back on the journey of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, as well as the joint efforts to preserve the national cultural values of generations of Khanh Hoa Culture sector.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Dung emphasized that Khanh Hoa is proud to be a locality with many valuable cultural heritages, with 16 national relics and 182 provincial relics. In 2024, the Center for Monument Conservation has achieved and exceeded many assigned targets such as: preparing dossiers to submit for ranking 2 provincial relics, submitting for signing dossiers to rank Po Nagar Tower as a special national monument, erecting 5 monument steles made of stone blocks, publishing 1 publication on cultural beliefs, measuring VN2000 coordinates for 12 relics, organizing 1 training session and 1 propaganda session for high schools.
Over the years, the Center for Monuments Conservation has been making every effort to preserve and promote cultural heritage values through the restoration and embellishment of historical and cultural relics, scenic spots and organizing many educational activities to promote awareness of cultural heritage conservation, especially for the younger generation.
Meaningful programs such as the Cultural Heritage Competition at district and provincial levels for secondary school students, the experiential activity "Learning about cultural heritage at Ponagar Tower and Hon Chong - Hon Do scenic spots" have attracted a large number of students to participate, creating opportunities for students to understand and appreciate more the cultural values of their homeland.
On the occasion of this special anniversary, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Center, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Dung expressed his deep gratitude to the delegates and all officers, civil servants and employees of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Monuments Conservation Center. Thanks to the attention and direction of the Department's leaders, the Provincial People's Committee, the coordination of specialized departments and units in the Department, along with the dedication and passion of the Center's staff, the Cultural sector has successfully performed its task of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage values of Khanh Hoa province.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Dung hopes that, with the cooperation of the whole community, the cultural values of Khanh Hoa will continue to be preserved, developed and spread not only domestically but also to the world.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, praised and highly appreciated the achievements that the Khanh Hoa Provincial Monuments Conservation Center has achieved in recent years. Mr. Le Van Hoa hopes that in the coming time, the collective of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Monuments Conservation Center will continue to promote the strength of solidarity and creativity, focus on preserving, maintaining and promoting the values of cultural heritage, attracting tourists to the locality...
On this occasion, the leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial Monuments Conservation Center commended and presented gifts to individuals and groups of the Center who have made many contributions to the province's Cultural Heritage sector in recent times.
