75 years ago, on October 30, 1949, the Standing Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party decided that the Vietnamese military forces fighting and working to help Laos would be organized into a separate system and named Volunteer Army. This was an important historical milestone, marking the development and maturity of the Vietnamese military forces on the Lao battlefield; affirming the correct line and viewpoint of the Communist Party of Vietnam in carrying out international missions. With that meaning, October 30, 1949 was taken as the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Army and Experts in Laos.
Representatives of the Party Committee of Military Region 2 Command presented flowers to congratulate the Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts helping Laos in Phu Tho province.
Joining the Vietnam National Defense and Security Force to help Laos, Phu Tho province has tens of thousands of officers and soldiers. Through years of arduous struggle, the officers and soldiers have excellently completed the tasks assigned by the Party and the Army, making an important contribution to building and consolidating the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. In 2011, the Vietnam National Defense and Security Force Liaison Committee to help Laos in Phu Tho province was established with over 4,000 members, becoming a common home, carrying out well the activities of comradeship, continuing to foster the relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
At the ceremony, delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation of the two countries and together reviewed the traditional roots of the Laos-Vietnam, Vietnam-Laos relationship during the revolutionary period against imperialist invaders with many blood and bone sacrifices of soldiers of the two countries.
The Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts in Laos, Phu Tho province, gave gifts to the martyrs' relatives.
In localities, the Vietnam National Defense and Security Liaison Committee for Laos has promoted its role, truly being the core, the leading force in social activities, having a voice, prestige and always receiving effective support from Party committees, authorities and local people... The representative of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam expressed deep gratitude and sincere thanks to the leaders and the Vietnam National Defense and Security Liaison Committee for Laos in Phu Tho province for their help and support for the revolutionary cause of the Lao people in the past as well as in the current cause of protecting and building Laos.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Military Liaison Committee for Laos in Phu Tho province presented gifts to relatives of outstanding martyrs and wounded soldiers.
