Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association

On the morning of April 21, the Vietnam Journalists Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2025) and the 2025 National Conference of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Attending the program were Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; Alternate Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Phan Xuan Thuy and representatives of press agencies across the country. The delegation of Quang Tri Journalists Association was led by Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, President of the Provincial Journalists Association Truong Duc Minh Tu.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh reviewed the glorious 75-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnam Journalists Association - from its first establishment in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province, under the direction of the Party and Uncle Ho, to the great role of the Association in the resistance war, national construction and the renovation period.

Throughout its history, the Vietnam Journalists Association has not only been a common home for journalists but also a vanguard force on the ideological and cultural front, accompanying the nation in the struggles for independence, unification and national construction.

Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh emphasized that in 2024, the Association achieved many outstanding achievements such as: Successfully organizing the National Press Forum within the framework of the National Press Festival; handing over the restoration project of the historical relic of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School - demonstrating the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" and many practical activities for the community...

At the program, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Phan Xuan Thuy affirmed the important role of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 75 years of accompanying the revolution, as the "common home" of journalists. Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission praised the outstanding achievements in 2024, emphasized the need for strong innovation in the digital age and called for continuing to enhance the position of revolutionary journalism, towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

According to the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in the context of the country entering a new development stage with many opportunities and challenges, revolutionary press needs to promote tradition, constantly innovate, create, improve content quality and technology adaptation capacity.

"In this important period, when the country is facing a historic opportunity to make a breakthrough, the press must also strive to change and accompany the country. The press in the new era must be creative and innovate strongly to meet the needs of the public, keep up with the development of the times, and the country's digital transformation," emphasized Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Phan Xuan Thuy.

At the same time, the Vietnam Journalists Association needs to continue to be the core force in proposing mechanisms and policies for press development, enhancing training and fostering a team of professional, humane and modern journalists. At the same time, organize practical and meaningful activities towards the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press.

​Discussing at the conference, delegates mentioned improving the quality of consulting, perfecting the organization and apparatus, and the regime for those who regularly work at the Association; The current situation and solutions to innovate the organization and operation of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Journalists Association when the agency implements Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Executive Committee "Some issues on continuing to innovate and arrange the organization and apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient"; Constantly innovating, creating, and improving the effectiveness of the Association's operations, aiming to attract a large number of practical members in Vinh Phuc...

The conference also listened to delegates evaluate the Association's activities in 2024, frankly and responsibly discuss solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Association's work; especially implementing major policies of the Party and State on organizing the Vietnam Journalists Association...

Previously, on April 20, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (1950-2025) and the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association organized a "Back to the Source" journey in Thai Nguyen province.

Specifically, delegates offered incense and flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Deo, Phu Dinh Commune, and the ATK Dinh Hoa historical relic site, which marks the years of revolutionary activities of Uncle Ho and the Party Central Committee.

The delegation also visited Diem Mac commune - a national historical site, where the Vietnam Journalists Association was founded; visited Nui Coc Lake tourist area in Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district; visited the national historical site - Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, a place associated with journalism training during the resistance war.
