Celebrating 28 years of Binh Thuan Tourism Day (October 24, 1995)

After 28 years of formation and development, it can be said that after overcoming the challenge called "Covid-19 pandemic", this is the time when Binh Thuan tourism is facing many opportunities to confidently aim for higher goals...

On the Vietnamese tourism map, local tourism is a "bright spot" because it has the honor of hosting the National Tourism Year 2023 - Binh Thuan - Green Convergence. Along with the expressway sections of Dau Giay - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao officially put into use, the local "smokeless industry" has recently become more competitive in attracting visitors.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Binh Thuan has stepped up promotion and prepared well the conditions to welcome and serve the increasing number of visitors in recent times, especially during holidays (April 30 - May 1, National Day September 2) and the peak summer tourism season in 2023. Thanks to convenient transportation with significantly shortened travel time, visitors from all over the country come to Binh Thuan almost every day of the week, thus helping tourism activities always take place quite vibrantly... In the first 3 quarters of this year alone, the whole province welcomed 6.984 million visitors, an increase of nearly 76% over the same period last year and reaching 103.93% of this year's plan (of which international visitors had 200,700, an increase of nearly 4 times over the same period). During the same period, revenue from tourism activities in the province reached more than 17,675 billion VND, nearly double that of the same period last year and exceeding 7.13% of the 2023 plan.

Looking at the overall picture of Binh Thuan's economy in the first 9 months of this year, despite many difficulties, the reality shows that the province's 3 economic pillars have maintained growth. In particular, the tourism, accommodation, food and beverage, and entertainment sectors are assessed to have strong and breakthrough growth and represent the main bright color in the general economic picture... Continuing to promote the achieved results, in the coming time, the locality will step up information and promotion activities, actively implement appropriate stimulus programs to quickly develop tourism markets, especially in preparation for the peak season to welcome international visitors. At the same time, businesses are encouraged to develop a variety of new tourism programs and products, invest in upgrading the quality of accommodation services, improve professionalism in tourism services and maintain the image of a "Safe - Friendly - Attractive - Quality" destination. Along with that, focus on successfully organizing the Closing Ceremony and remaining events within the framework of the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" to create a good impression in the first time hosting.

Thus, compared to the 2023 plan, both basic targets of the industry (number of visitors and revenue) have officially "reached the finish line" 3 months ahead of schedule, but Binh Thuan tourism also needs to strive towards higher goals... Remember exactly 2 years ago - October 24, 2021, the Provincial Party Executive Committee (term XIV) issued Resolution No. 06 on tourism development to 2025, with a vision to 2030. Accordingly, the Resolution sets out the goal: Attracting more tourists to Binh Thuan, with longer stays, more spending, more return visits and developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, a pillar of socio-economic development of the province...

Mature at the age of 28 and having overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, Binh Thuan tourism will take advantage of the "heavenly time, favorable location" advantage, focusing on effectively exploiting the potentials and strengths that it possesses. In the immediate future, it could be striving to reach the milestone of welcoming 8 million visitors this year, or effectively taking advantage of the "golden" opportunity when hosting the National Tourism Year 2023 - Binh Thuan - Green Convergence to spread the image and brand of the destination. This will contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of the "smokeless industry" in the following years, while affirming tourism as a solid economic pillar of the local economy... And more than that, gradually realizing the goal set out in Resolution 06: By 2025, strive to welcome 8.9 million visitors (of which international visitors account for 10 - 12%) with revenue from tourism activities reaching 23,300 billion VND, contributing to the province's GRDP of 10 - 11%. By 2030, welcome 16 million visitors (of which international visitors account for 15 - 20%) with revenue from tourism activities reaching 63,000 billion VND, increasing the contribution rate to the province's GRDP to 12 - 13%. At the same time, promote the construction of Mui Ne National Tourist Area to become one of the leading destinations in the Asia - Pacific region.
