Born into a poor family with a patriotic tradition (Dong village, Doan Lam commune, Doan Lam group, Thanh Mien district, now Thanh Tung commune, Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province), the patriotic young man Nguyen Luong Bang was soon enlightened and became one of the first soldiers of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association (in 1925). After completing the political training course of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association organized by Nguyen Ai Quoc in Guangzhou, in September 1926, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang left Guangzhou for Hai Phong, with the task of establishing a communication line from Hai Phong - Hong Kong - Guangzhou, transferring revolutionary documents and books back to the country. At the same time, he mobilized and propagated the revolution in Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh... From October 1927 to December 1928, he went to Saigon to propagate and mobilize the revolution among workers and youth. In December 1928, he returned to Hai Phong to work in the workers' movement and the "proletarianization" movement.

Following the organization's policy, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang volunteered to join the "proletarianization" movement, contributing to promoting the combination of Marxism-Leninism, Nguyen Ai Quoc's revolutionary ideology with the workers' movement and the patriotic movement in our country. At the same time, accelerating the process of mobilizing towards the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam - the vanguard of the working class and the entire nation. In particular, he was also one of the pioneers in mobilizing workers and soldiers and was successful in forming the first organizations of patriotic Vietnamese workers and soldiers abroad. Then, in the process of revolutionary activities full of hardships and challenges, he gradually matured and became one of the first communist party members of the Communist Party of Vietnam. With those important contributions, our Party has affirmed: Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang is an effective collaborator of President Ho Chi Minh "in building our Party, educating Party members, and taking care of the Party's ideological and organizational stability".

During his revolutionary activities, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was arrested and imprisoned by the enemy many times. In 1931, he was arrested by French secret police in Shanghai, escorted back to Vietnam and was imprisoned in Catina outpost (Saigon), Hoa Lo prison (Hanoi), and Hai Duong prison. After being sentenced to life in prison by the colonial court in Hai Duong, he was imprisoned in Hai Duong prison and Hoa Lo prison (Hanoi). In December 1932, he escaped from prison and continued his revolutionary activities. At the end of 1933, he was arrested by the French colonialists for the second time and sentenced to life in prison by the colonial court in Bac Giang. In May 1935, he was exiled to Son La prison. In August 1943, he and a number of Party cadres successfully escaped from prison and returned to continue their revolutionary activities.

During the years of imprisonment under the harsh prison regime, having to face torture, illness, the danger of two prison breaks... but those hardships could not subdue the "golden-livered, iron-hearted" soldier. Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang always upheld the spirit of a communist, the spirit of steadfast and intelligent revolutionary struggle. He was one of the pioneers in the struggle against the harsh prison regime, upholding the indomitable spirit before the enemy by mobilizing prisoners to go on hunger strikes, causing bloodshed, even disembowelment to force the enemy to give in.

In August 1945, at the Party's National Conference held in Tan Trao, Tuyen Quang (August 14 and 15), he was elected as an official member of the Party Central Committee. The National Congress held in Tan Trao (August 16 and 17) elected him to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam National Liberation Committee. With his qualities, talent and prestige, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was trusted by the Party and the State to carry out many new tasks of the revolution. After the August Revolution, he was continuously a member of the Party Central Committee and held the positions of Head of the Central Economic - Financial Committee (later changed to the Central Financial Committee (1947-1951)); General Director of the State Bank of Vietnam (1951-1952); Vietnamese Ambassador to the Soviet Union (1952-1956); Inspector General of the Central Inspectorate of the Government (1956-1960); Head of the Central Inspection Commission of the Party (1960-1969); Vice President (1969-1979).

Comrade Nguyen Luong Bang's activities and contributions to the revolution have made important contributions to the great victories of the Vietnamese revolution in the 20th century: the victory of the August Revolution in 1945, of the two long resistance wars against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists; the victory of the cause of building socialism and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. At the same time, it has contributed to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party, building our State to be clean and strong, truly a State of the People, by the People, for the People; consolidating and enhancing the people's trust in the Party and the revolutionary path chosen by President Ho Chi Minh.

Not only dedicating his whole life to the revolution, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang was also an exemplary model of morality and exemplary lifestyle: diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality, and a diligent, simple, and modest style. He always kept in mind that “it is necessary to practice a revolutionary lifestyle, to resolutely fight against the individualistic lifestyle of the bourgeoisie and other non-proletarian classes”. In that spirit, he determined to “continue and promote the shining example of the predecessor, the representative and exemplary model for us today, that is the revolutionary lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh”, because “his life, his personality, for the past five or six decades, is truly a living example of a diligent, simple, thrifty, clean, and healthy revolutionary lifestyle”.

On July 20, 1979, due to old age and poor health, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang passed away at the age of 75. After more than half a century of revolutionary activities under the banner of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang set an exemplary example of a staunch communist soldier, a typical senior leader who devoted himself to national independence, freedom and happiness of the people. "Comrade's example is a spiritual value that will forever shine for many generations of communists and our youth, our people. Comrade's revolutionary spirit and communist morality are immortal," our Party affirmed.
