Disciplinary action against principal in case of 8th grade male student being beaten with chair and broom

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Vo Huu Tran, Principal of Trung Hieu Secondary School, did not strictly manage student discipline and ethics, allowing many cases of school violence to occur, causing outrage.

On November 27, the Department of Internal Affairs of Vung Liem district (Vinh Long province) coordinated with relevant units to announce the decision to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Vo Huu Tran, Principal of Trung Hieu Secondary School.

Mr. Tran was disciplined with a warning for not properly performing his responsibilities as a principal, allowing school violence to occur.

As Dan Tri reported, at the end of September, a clip was circulated on social media recording a group of students brutally beating a classmate on the head and body. Verification revealed that the incident occurred at Trung Hieu Secondary School.

Specifically, on September 21, student TTL (grade 8) pretended to fall and then elbowed a classmate in the back. When the student got home, he told his grandmother that L. hurt him. The student's grandmother reported it and L. was punished by the family.

On September 23, L. did not participate but told his friends to use their hands, feet, brooms, helmets, and plastic chairs to beat his classmates. The students who were beaten did not dare to resist.

The incident happened with many students witnessing and cheering the fight. The students did not report it to the school and a female student used her phone to record the incident.

The school's disciplinary board unanimously decided to suspend 8 students involved in the beating of their classmates for 1 year and suspend the female student who used her phone to record the clip for 2 weeks. The students who watched and did not report or intervene were criticized in front of the whole school and had their conduct grade reduced by one level.

Not only the above incident, in the past 2 years, Mr. Vo Huu Tran (Principal) as the head of the unit has not strictly directed and managed the discipline and ethics of students, allowing many incidents of student fighting to occur.

The vice principal and teachers at the school repeatedly proposed to handle the student's violations, but Mr. Tran had no solution and did not handle the situation thoroughly, leading to the incident where a group of students beat up a friend and filmed the clip.

After the incident, Mr. Tran did not promptly handle and report to leaders at all levels and to the students' families to take support measures.

The homeroom teacher did not manage the class closely, students fought many times in class, the teacher did not detect it, and there was no solution to manage and prevent students from fighting.

The head teacher did not fulfill his responsibilities and did not promptly care for the students after they were beaten by a group of classmates.
