
Implementing the 2024 work program, on the afternoon of February 28, the Ethnic Council of the Provincial People's Council and the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province organized the signing of the Work Coordination Regulations for the period 2024 - 2026.
Attending the signing ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Nguyen Cong Luc - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command; Lo Thi Kim Ngan - Standing Member, Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council; Colonel Le Nhu Cuong - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, along with leaders of specialized departments and offices of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Border Guard Command.

Nghe An is the province with the largest area in the country; 11/21 district-level units are in mountainous areas and have ethnic minorities accounting for 14.76% of the province's population; including 27 communes, with 257 border villages and hamlets with a large number of ethnic minorities - the main operating area of Nghe An Border Guard in ensuring border security and promoting socio-economic development.
This is also the subject and area that the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council is interested in to advise the Provincial People's Council to issue policies and coordinate with all levels and sectors in implementing policies and guidelines of the Party, State, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee for ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

In the past, although the coordination program has not been signed, the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial Border Guard Command have proactively coordinated and exchanged information in carrying out political tasks of each side related to the management and protection of national security in border areas and ensuring social order and safety; fighting and preventing all types of crimes, especially drugs and human trafficking; implementing ethnic policies, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas in border areas in the province.


At the conference, the two sides exchanged and discussed key coordination contents and signed the Regulations on coordination between the Ethnic Council of the Provincial People's Council and the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province, period 2024 - 2026.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed: In recent times, the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard has been active and made efforts with many good practices and creative models that have spread strongly to society and the community, taking care of protecting border security and sovereignty and improving the material and spiritual life of people in border areas. The Ethnic Council of the Provincial People's Council has also proactively advised the Provincial People's Council to issue many policies and guidelines on ethnic minorities to remove difficulties, improve people's knowledge, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and improve the lives of people in increasingly prosperous areas.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also hopes that: Through the signing of the coordination regulations, the two agencies will coordinate better, make greater efforts, create a resonance of strength, spread and better perform the political tasks of each agency; promote the socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas in the province in general and ethnic minority areas in Nghe An border area in particular to develop prosperity, happiness and the people will be closer together, have a higher sense of responsibility in performing the task of protecting border security.

At the conference, the two agencies agreed on specific coordination content on 5 key content groups as follows:
Coordinate the implementation of documents on management and protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity; protection of security, order and social safety; combating and preventing crimes in ethnic minority areas in border areas.
Coordinate recommendations on policies and strategies related to the management and protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity; protection of security, order, social safety, and socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas in border areas.

Coordinate monitoring and surveying the implementation of laws and ethnic policies; projects, programs and plans for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas associated with the management and protection of sovereignty and national border security.
Coordinate in building the all-people border defense, all-people border defense posture and people's security posture in border areas in ethnic minority areas.
Coordinating the exchange of information helps promote the role and responsibility of each agency in performing assigned functions and tasks.

On this occasion, to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2024), the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council presented flowers to congratulate the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province.
