Signing of cooperation minutes on developing industry and trade of Quang Tri province with industry and trade of Savannakhet, Salavan, Sekong provinces

This afternoon, October 9, the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Tri organized a conference on cooperation in developing the industry and trade sector of Quang Tri province and the industry and trade sectors of Savannakhet, Salavan, and Sekong provinces (Laos).

In recent times, the Quang Tri industry and trade sector has actively advised the provincial leaders to issue many documents and plans to strengthen development cooperation with neighboring Lao provinces. It has actively advised on the direction of implementing the Vietnam - Laos Border Trade Agreement, supporting traders and border residents to develop border trade.

Actively advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve citizens' requests to cross the sub-border gates in the area, creating conditions for businesses of the two provinces to exchange and connect in trade. Strengthen cooperation, continue to implement agreed contents to remove difficulties and obstacles, creating conditions to promote the development of cross-border trade.

Participate in the Laos - Vietnam Trade and Investment Promotion Conference to introduce the potentials and advantages of Quang Tri province, preferential policies to attract investment cooperation with domestic and international enterprises, especially with the provinces of Savannakhet, Salavan and Sekong.

Propose some solutions to strengthen and further enhance the effectiveness of trade and investment cooperation between Quang Tri province and Savannakhet, Salavan and Sekong provinces. Increase contact and work with Lao enterprises, investors, and the Vietnamese Association in Laos to introduce detailed information about Quang Tri province, a list of priority projects to attract investment, promote and introduce typical products, OCOP of Quang Tri province and the need for connection and trade in import and export of goods.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade has also paid attention to and directed the implementation of the instructions of the provincial leaders as well as the central government on cooperation in developing the industry and trade sector with Lao localities in general and Savannakhet, Salavan, and Sekong provinces in particular, achieving many positive results. Thereby, it has concretized the tasks related to economic diplomacy , especially development cooperation with Savannakhet, Salavan, and Sekong provinces.

Discussing at the conference, representatives of the industry and trade sector of Quang Tri and the provinces of Savannakhet, Salavan, and Sekong exchanged good experiences in implementing development cooperation activities. At the same time, they proposed good solutions and close coordination contents with practical significance to further strengthen the cooperation and development of localities, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
