According to Deputy Director of the Department of Finance Nguyen Dinh Thong, in order to achieve the growth target of Region I at 4.2% or higher, in the coming time, Tien Giang will focus on implementing a number of projects such as: Project on Adjusting the Restructuring of Tien Giang Agriculture Sector to 2030; Project on Crop Cutting, Crop Conversion and Crop Structure in Eastern Districts, Tien Giang Province to 2025; Project on Converting Crop and Livestock Structure in the Northern Region of National Highway 1, Tien Giang Province; Project on Sustainable Development of One Million Hectares of High-Quality and Low-Emission Rice Cultivation Associated with Green Growth in the Mekong Delta Region to 2030 in Tien Giang Province; Projects on Linking Production and Consumption Chains for Key Agricultural Products: Dragon Fruit, Durian, Hoa Loc Mango, Quail, Black Chicken, etc.

According to the assessment of the leaders of the Department of Finance, although agriculture still plays an important role in the provincial economy, the decreasing trend in proportion is a sign of the industrialization and modernization process.

Tien Giang is shifting from a predominantly agricultural economy to a more diversified economy with strong contributions from the Industrial and Commercial - Service sectors.

The province is promoting the processing industry and the production of high value-added goods, helping to improve the competitiveness of the economy and create many job opportunities. At the same time, the province will also focus on accelerating the progress of site clearance, resettlement areas, and infrastructure construction of approved IPs and clusters to create industrial land funds to attract investment, especially: Tan Phuoc 1 IP, Binh Dong IP, Thanh Tan IP, Gia Thuan 2 IP, etc.

Tien Giang will also strengthen investment promotion activities, striving to attract 90 million USD to the industrial park. The province will focus on site clearance, investment procedures, bidding, etc. to start construction soon, disburse public investment capital to ensure disbursement of over 24% per quarter and over 98% of the plan for the whole year. In particular, Tien Giang will focus on implementing key projects such as: Component Project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Construction Project, Phase 1; Provincial Road 864 (road along Tien River); Traffic road on both sides of Bao Dinh River.

To implement the economic development plan for 2025, the solution that Tien Giang has proposed is to promote meetings with businesses and focus on investment in the province's two key development areas.

Specifically, the province will survey the performance of businesses, focusing on businesses that make large contributions to the province's GRDP growth.

At the same time, Tien Giang also met with businesses to encourage and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles. The province also strives to develop from 910 to 950 businesses.

One of the important solutions is to organize a conference to deploy development orientations according to the Provincial Planning and focus on investing in infrastructure, attracting investment, especially in the two key development areas of the province: Tan Phuoc Industrial Zone and Go Cong Industrial Zone.

Tien Giang will focus on supporting businesses to meet new standards of the export market; striving for total export turnover to reach over 7 billion USD.

In the field of tourism, the province will focus on investing and attracting investment in infrastructure, attracting tourism projects in Tan Thanh, Con Ngang...; at the same time, building a list of feasible investment calling projects in 4 main tourism centers such as: Cai Be Tourist Area, Thoi Son Islet Tourist Area, Tan Thanh Sea Tourist Area and Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve... to invest and call for investment.

Tien Giang also focuses on removing difficulties and supporting investors to speed up the implementation of projects such as: Huong Bien Tourist Area (Tan Thanh Beach Tourist Area), Binh An Eco-tourism Area, Road Reception Area. Especially removing difficulties for real estate projects: Vinh Kim New Rural Residential Area, An Hoa Residential Area, Nguyen Trong Hop Urban Area, Truong Dinh Street and residential areas on both sides of the road phase 3, social housing projects.
