Located in the North of Quang Tri province, Vinh Linh district is blessed with a coastline of about 25km, a diverse marine ecosystem, a large fishing ground with abundant seafood resources. Along the coast there are many beautiful beaches. These are the strengths for the locality to exploit the strengths of the marine economy.

The district pays top attention to the exploitation, fishing, aquaculture and fishing logistics. To help fishermen feel secure in going offshore, Vinh Linh district has developed policies to reorganize production, assess offshore fishing capacity and create conditions for fishermen to access preferential capital sources from banks to invest in modern means and suitable fishing gear for more effective fishing.
At the same time, organize propaganda, dissemination, mobilization, and guidance for fishermen to implement the provisions of the Fisheries Law, combat illegal exploitation... Up to now, the whole district has over 700 fishing boats of all kinds with a large and experienced fishing force, thanks to which, the average annual catch always reaches 3,700-4,000 tons.
Aquaculture activities are developed in the direction of sustainable commodity production. With the orientation of focusing on investing in aquatic and seafood products with economic value, combined with the application of high technology in the farming process, the whole district currently has nearly 870 hectares of aquaculture with an average output of nearly 2,300 tons/year.
Fishery logistics services are also developing strongly. In the area, there is Cua Tung Fishery Logistics Zone; Dried fish and fishmeal processing factory with a capacity of 30,000 tons/year of Ngoc Tuan One Member Co., Ltd.; over 100 steamed fish processing facilities concentrated at Cua Tung Fishing Port and many fish sauce and shrimp processing facilities in Vinh Thai, Vinh Giang communes and Cua Tung town with an annual fish sauce output of over 1 million liters. Along with that, thanks to the implementation of maximum support policies for traditional processing professions, the district has gradually built brands and successfully registered OCOP for products such as fish sauce, shrimp...
In the economic development strategy of Vinh Linh district, sea tourism services are considered an important part. The beaches in the district have a unique and distinctive beauty. In recent years, the number of tourists coming to Vinh Linh coastal areas has tended to increase. According to statistics, on average, every year there are about 70,000 visitors to tourist attractions in the district, including about 10,000 international visitors.
In addition to exploiting and promoting the strengths of nature, Vinh Linh district has also introduced many policies to develop the marine tourism service industry. Focusing on mobilizing all resources to build infrastructure, implementing incentive policies and creating conditions for economic sectors, attracting investors to participate in the tourism sector in the direction of diversifying forms of commercial organization.
Coordinate with all levels and sectors to accelerate the implementation of projects in coastal areas and promote marine tourism promotion activities. Currently, many projects have been and are in the process of completion, promising to bring a new look to infrastructure. Vinh Linh district sets a goal of attracting about 150,000 visitors, including 30,000 international visitors with total revenue of over 220 billion VND by 2025. By 2030, attract 400,000 visitors, revenue of over 450 billion VND and basically complete infrastructure investment to create a development step for the next phase.
To maximize potential and strengths, creating a premise to promote economic development in coastal areas, Vinh Linh district is currently making efforts to work and produce, overcome difficulties, and is determined to build Vinh Linh district into a dynamic economic region in the North of Quang Tri province.
