Two Vietnamese volleyball players Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh and Doan Thi Lam Oanh went abroad to play for Chonburi E-Tech Club in the second phase of the Thai Volleyball Championship. By helping this team win a ticket to the final round, the pair of Vietnamese volleyball models could not return home to celebrate Tet but stayed to compete in the final round.
Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh and Chonburi E-Tech Club missed the chance to win against Chonburi E-Tech Club
In the first match of the final round taking place today, Chonburi E-Tech Club met again the team they lost to in the previous qualifying round, Nakhon Ratchasima Club. In this rematch, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh was sent on the field from the beginning by the coaching staff, however, she and her teammates lost 22/25 to Nakhon Ratchasima Club in game 1.
In game 2, setter Doan Thi Lam Oanh was used next to Kieu Trinh, but the girls of Chonburi E-Tech Club could not make a breakthrough and had to accept defeat 22/25. A surprise happened in game 3 when Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh and her teammates played explosively, winning 25/23, narrowing the score to 1-2.
Doan Thi Lam Oanh was also given a chance but could not help Chonburi E-Tech Club win.
With high spirits, Chonburi E-Tech Club players played enthusiastically in game 4, winning 25/23, equalizing the score 2-2 and bringing the match to the deciding game 5. With the advantage in spirit, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh and her teammates were predicted to make a spectacular comeback. However, the main hitters of Nakhon Ratchasima Club, Sasipapron and Onuma Sittirak, managed to shine again to help their team win 15/9 and the final victory with a score of 3-2.
Tomorrow, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Doan Thi Lam Oanh and Chonburi E-Tech Club will compete in the second round of the Thailand Volleyball Championship finals, facing Diamond Food Club before playing the final match against Khon Kaen Star Club on February 11 to determine their opponents in the semi-finals.
