This is the opinion shared by Ms. Ngo Huong, Deputy General Director of Sales and Marketing of Vinpearl, Vingroup Corporation , with the FORUM "TO ATTRACT INTERNATIONAL GUESTS TO RETURN" of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.
In 2023, the world faces many uncertainties. So does Vietnam tourism! Beautiful nature and rich cultural heritage are not enough for Vietnam to become a "must-visit" destination for international tourists while competitors are constantly innovating and creating.
It is time for us to create destinations that are both Vietnamese in character and highly international, in line with the globalization trend of the tourism industry. That is the trend of developing high-class and multi-experience destinations with creative and unique tourism products, capable of attracting and retaining tourists continuously for many years, even becoming a "must-see" destination in Asia.
As a business operating in the industry for 20 years, including 45 facilities in 17 provinces and cities nationwide with a capacity of over 18,500 rooms; 5 golf courses (4 golf courses in Vietnam and 1 golf course in Australia); 7 entertainment areas, theme parks and Safari, Vinpearl is always struggling with the problem of renewing itself, building highly attractive tourism products.
Recently, we have had success with the WonderFest series, taking place in June 2023, attracting tens of thousands of tourists to Nha Trang. After this success, the winter WonderFest has been launched and will explode in mid-December in Phu Quoc.
In the coming time, Vinpearl plans to invest in 4 hotel projects, along with safari parks, theme parks and golf courses in complex projects; at the same time, promote strategic cooperation with big names such as Melia and Marriott to upgrade the system.
Vinpearl also continuously organizes tourism promotion events in key markets such as Korea, Australia, India, China and the US - recently emerging markets; builds a widespread strategic agency system, directly bringing information and services of Vinpearl in particular and popular tourist destinations in Vietnam in general to international visitors.
For Vietnam tourism to truly flourish, the efforts of businesses alone are not enough and require the cooperation of the entire community. Vingroup proposes 5 solutions.
Firstly, it is necessary to have a flexible visa exemption policy, exempting visas for some key markets in some short-term periods according to the national tourism development strategy.
Second, it is necessary to seriously develop a national green-sustainable tourism action plan and take action to achieve the global standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) for tourism facilities, hotels, etc. This is one of the indicators that tourists from developed countries especially appreciate in choosing a destination.
Third, it is necessary to increase the rate of digitalization and automation at airports to bring convenience, speed and comfort to tourists in immigration procedures.
Fourth, socialize capital sources for tourism development investment funds with key projects focusing on the destination strategies of major national tourist localities.
Fifth, there is a need for tax-related policies to increase the competitiveness of tourism services.
With the right policies and decisions of the Government, ministries, branches, localities and the efforts of businesses and people - Vietnamese tourism will quickly make a strong breakthrough, regain its position and sustainable competitiveness on the world's destination map.
