Checking admission and policies for students at all boarding schools in Thanh Hoa

On October 22, the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training said that implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department Inspectorate and the Department's professional departments, a number of related departments and branches have just inspected and reviewed the enrollment subjects, implemented policies for students of ethnic boarding schools in the province, school years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.

The interdisciplinary delegation will inspect and review the admission targets and implement policies for students of ethnic boarding schools in 11 mountainous districts including: Muong Lat, Quan Hoa, Quan Son, Lang Chanh, Ba Thuoc, Ngoc Lac, Cam Thuy, Thach Thanh, Nhu Thanh, Nhu Xuan, Thuong Xuan; Thanh Hoa province's ethnic boarding high school and Ngoc Lac ethnic boarding high school.

The interdisciplinary team will examine documents related to the enrollment plan, the enrollment board, the enrollment list, each student's enrollment records, and the State's funding for students.

The test results will be announced by the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training after the conclusion of the interdisciplinary team.

In 2022, Tuoi Tre Online published an article reflecting that in the 2022-2023 school year, Quan Hoa Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities recruited 43 students in violation of the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training out of a total of 60 students recruited for grade 6.

After that, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee inspected signs of violations by organizations and party members and decided to discipline 5 officials and 1 collective.

Mr. Le Duc Hieu - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Quan Hoa district, chairman of the admission council for grade 6, Quan Hoa Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in the 2022-2023 school year - was disciplined with a warning.

Ms. Pham Thi Luong - vice chairwoman of Quan Hoa district People's Committee at that time - and 3 subordinates were disciplined with reprimands.

In May 2024, Tuoi Tre Online published a series of articles reflecting on violations in enrollment at Muong Lat Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.

Afterwards, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee decided to discipline Mr. Mai Xuan Giang - Vice Chairman of Muong Lat District People's Committee - and many related officials with a reprimand.
