On the afternoon of November 25, the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) coordinated with the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police and Hoan Kiem District Police to inspect and handle violations of railway traffic order and safety in the railway coffee street area from Tran Phu to Phung Hung.
Before the train departed, the authorities conducted a surprise patrol and discovered many shops violating railway safety corridors.
Many shop owners were fined for their violations. They were also required to sign a commitment not to repeat the above behavior.
Major Nguyen Manh Hung (deputy captain of Traffic Police Team No. 1) said that recently, the authorities have handled the situation, but violations of railway traffic safety corridors still occur in the area, especially in densely populated areas.
In October 2024 alone, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department handled 47 cases of violations of railway traffic safety order. Thereby, they imposed a fine of 17 million VND, temporarily seized 47 sets of documents, and one vehicle.
From now until the end of 2024 and on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the traffic police will continue to coordinate with the police of districts and towns where railways pass through to do a good job of preventing and avoiding traffic accidents, especially on the railway coffee street from Phung Hung (Ba Dinh district) to Le Duan (Hoan Kiem district).
At this time, many shops violated the railway safety corridor. Tourists, mainly foreigners, were invited to leave the above area.
A shop owner was fined for violating the law. They were also required to sign a commitment not to repeat the offense.
Many decorative and commercial items that were hung in the wrong position were also required to be removed.
Barrier boards have been set up with English notes to warn visitors.
Information and warnings about railway safety are also distributed to residents and tourists.
