Checking food safety and hygiene in Hai Ha district

From April 16 to May 15, Hai Ha district established an interdisciplinary food safety inspection team to inspect food safety management in communes and towns; inspect compliance with food safety regulations at a number of food production and trading establishments in the district.

The delegation will focus on inspecting the implementation of legal regulations on food safety in food production, processing and trading. During the inspection, the following contents will be reviewed: Certificate of food safety qualified facility; Commitment to safe food production; conditions for ensuring food safety for facilities producing and trading alcohol and food; conditions on equipment, tools and people. Trace the origin of food and take samples to test food safety indicators when necessary. Disseminate and popularize regulations on hygiene conditions of facilities, equipment and tools in food production, processing and trading.

The Hai Ha district food safety inspection team inspected business establishments in the area.

Through inspection, most of the business owners have strictly implemented the regulations on ensuring food safety. The delegation also fined 3 business establishments with the amount of 5.5 million VND; destroyed on the spot 28 sausages, 150 chicken feet, 6kg of various candies, the total value of destroyed goods is estimated at 2.5 million VND. In the coming time, the delegation will continue to inspect food business establishments in the district.

Through inspections, we aim to raise awareness and compliance with food safety laws and regulations for food production, trading and processing establishments; promptly detect, prevent and handle violations of food safety regulations, and rectify shortcomings and weaknesses in state management of food safety. At the same time, we propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of food safety assurance.
