'Leech in water bottle' case: Company that destroyed evidence will be punished
According to Mr. Hoang Dinh An, Head of the Food Safety and Hygiene Department, due to the impact of Covid-19, from 2020 to the end of 2022, bottled and jarred drinking water production and trading establishments in the province have been operating at a low level; many establishment owners have not paid attention to investment, causing facilities and equipment to deteriorate and not ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations. Meanwhile, the health sector focuses on disease prevention, so inspection, supervision and state management in this field are not strict; production compliance is not high, leading to the above problems.
After the inspection, the delegations requested the violating bottled water and jarred water establishments to temporarily suspend operations to correct the errors mentioned.
According to the Quang Tri Department of Health, the sector will continue to plan to inspect all 69 businesses and production facilities of bottled and canned drinking water in the province to promptly detect violations and have a more comprehensive assessment.
At the same time, guide these facilities to overcome and supplement the criteria on factory facilities and drinking water production equipment in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring food hygiene and safety.
