Solutions to control inflation
Delegate Mai Thi Phuong Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the Judiciary Committee, assessed that the Government has made efforts to control inflation, but the pressure to control inflation is still very large, especially when salary reform will begin to be implemented from July 1.
“I request the Deputy Prime Minister to inform us about the price management work in the coming time to achieve the goal of controlling inflation and fundamental solutions to protect people's health when food hygiene and safety are increasingly complicated,” delegate Mai Thi Phuong Hoa questioned.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that inflation is largely related to essential goods. Meanwhile, Vietnam is an open economy, so many supplies and raw materials must be imported from the world market. On the other hand, Vietnam is implementing many economic stimulus packages and preparing to increase wages. The Deputy Prime Minister assessed that this could be the cause affecting the macro economy and inflation control.
“Recently, the Government has directed ministries and branches to drastically implement many solutions to ensure production, supply and distribution. Many items whose prices are managed by the Government have been adjusted with appropriate roadmaps, for example, solutions to handle gold prices to achieve the goal of controlling and stabilizing the value of the currency,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, in the coming time, the Government will introduce policies to stimulate consumption, tourism, shopping, increase public investment, and essential infrastructure to ensure production and economic development. If economic growth and inflation are adjusted smoothly, and monetary and fiscal policies are perfectly combined, the Deputy Prime Minister said that "prices can be completely adjusted."
Regarding food poisoning, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that agencies review and revise legal regulations to have specific sanctions to control the food supply chain from production, processing to transportation and consumption.
Tax payment deadline extension from June 1

In addition, the Government will also improve enforcement capacity, strengthen inspection, supervision and control of power; overcome the situation of shirking, avoiding and fearing responsibility of officials and civil servants; have a mechanism to evaluate officials based on specific results, linking substantive evaluation with training, planning and appointment.
In particular, the Government will prioritize promoting growth associated with macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring major balances of the economy; harmoniously coordinating macroeconomic management policies. Monetary policy will be proactively managed; fiscal policy will be reasonably expanded; exchange rates and interest rates will be managed in accordance with the market situation and set goals.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in June, the Government will issue a decree on extending the deadline for paying corporate income tax and personal income tax, reducing registration fees for domestically produced and assembled cars, and reducing land and water surface rents to support businesses and people in developing production, business and consumption.
Answering the question of delegate Le Thanh Van, National Assembly Delegation of Ca Mau about the priority order among the Government's solutions to both "relax the people" and develop the economy and society, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha admitted that this is not a simple issue.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister: "To ease the burden on the people, right after COVID-19, we have had many solutions from providing financial packages to support businesses and investors, to supporting unemployed people to find jobs through social insurance and unemployment insurance policies."
In addition, there have been many stimulus packages and post-pandemic recovery packages. But so far, the Deputy Prime Minister believes that "fundamental solutions need to be proposed."
Regarding the need to ease people's burden at this time, the Deputy Prime Minister said that it is to help people adapt in all conditions, ensure the development of industries and occupations, create jobs for people, and when converting industries and economic models, support people in training and developing human resources.
Along with that, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, the solution that needs to be put forward is consumer stimulus packages for development, paying attention to efficiency, improving productivity and quality in investment; especially focusing on promoting public investment disbursement, enhancing competitiveness to synchronously develop transport infrastructure and energy infrastructure.
“These are solutions to ensure people participate, people benefit and the economy also ensures development,” Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized.
