The 6 gold medals won on the first day of competition of Vietnamese Kickboxing were won by the following fighters: Bui Thi Yen Nhi (48kg, women's lowkick), Pham Huynh Yen My (60kg, women's lowkick), Dinh Thi Hoa (65kg, women's lowkick), Le Thi Nhi (52kg, women's fullcontact), Nguyen Ngoc Ngan (56kg, women's fullcontact), Tran Vo Song Thuong (60kg, women's fullcontact).
Among the victories of Vietnamese boxers today, Hanoi boxer Dinh Thi Hoa had a convincing victory when she won by knockout against the Indonesian athlete in less than a minute. The absolute victory of the boxer from Hanoi Kickboxing team also demonstrated her superiority in class and professional level over her Indian opponent.
General Secretary of the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation – Head Coach of the Vietnam team at the Asian Championship Duong Ngoc Hai said that the athletes’ victory demonstrated their professional level as well as their stable performance through the tournaments. This clearly demonstrated the thorough preparation process of Vietnam Kickboxing for this tournament.
“In addition to its professional significance, the tournament is also considered an opportunity for coaches and athletes to promote the beauty of Vietnamese culture, country and people to friends from other countries in the continent.
With the participation of countries and territories in the Asian region, the tournament will be a good opportunity for us to compete for achievements while learning to improve our skills and exchange with other teams" - Head coach Duong Ngoc Hai shared.
On October 13, Vietnamese Kickboxing athletes will continue to compete in 10 final events of the tournament. The initial goal of Vietnamese Kickboxing was to win 2-3 gold medals. And with the achievements on the first final day, Vietnamese Kickboxing has exceeded the target set before departure.
