(Dan Tri) - The Kia Syros will initially only have petrol and diesel versions, and the pure electric version will be launched later. This mini-SUV is larger than the Sonet and smaller than the Seltos.
The Kia Syros has made its global debut in India, slotting between the Sonet and Seltos in the Korean automaker’s product portfolio. The compact SUV differentiates itself with its modern exterior and technology-filled interior.

The Kia Syros is 3,995mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,665mm tall, with a 2,550mm wheelbase. This is the same length as the Sonet, but the remaining dimensions are slightly larger.
The car is designed in a square style and has a high rear end, reminiscent of the previous Kia Soul model. The high chassis and many plastic details create an SUV "quality" for the Syros.

The LED headlights are positioned lower than usual, above the “tiger nose”. Kia designers opted for a nearly closed grille, so air is drawn into the engine compartment through vents in the lower front bumper.
Looking from the side, you can see the large, square, high wheel arches and sturdy B-pillars, similar to the design style of the Hyundai Casper and Inster cars.

At the rear, the split taillights, L-shaped, use LED bulbs, hug the two sides of the rear glass door and the minivan-style tailgate.
Inside, the dashboard looks similar to the Kia EV3, with a digital cockpit that includes two 12.3-inch screens and a 5-inch screen for controlling the climate control. Another highlight is the rear bench seat, which slides up/down, reclines, and is ventilated; these are features never before seen on an urban SUV.

Notable equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, 64-color interior ambient lighting, 4-way power driver's seat, Harman Kardon Premium Sound System with 8 speakers, wireless charging pad, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity in seconds.
Kia also mentions a center-assisted navigation system, along with a host of connectivity features.
In terms of safety equipment, Syros has 6 airbags and can add the ADAS advanced driving assistance system that provides level 2 autonomous driving capability.

The Kia Syros uses the upgraded K1 architecture, which is also the platform used for the Hyundai Exter, Casper, and Inster models.
For now, this model only has gasoline and diesel versions, and the pure electric version will come later.
The 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine produces 118 horsepower and 172Nm of torque, while the 1.5L diesel engine produces 114 horsepower and 250Nm. Both are mated to front-wheel drive and a manual or automatic transmission.
The Syros is expected to hit the market early next year. Local media reports suggest it will be more expensive than the Sonet, closer to the Seltos.
In the mini-SUV segment, the Kia Syros will compete with models like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq.
