The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with relevant units on plans to coordinate the collection, transportation, and treatment of domestic solid waste to ensure waste security in the city.

Previously, on the evening of January 23, hundreds of garbage trucks could not enter the Da Phuoc landfill (Binh Chanh district), causing a prolonged congestion, with the risk that the day's waste could not be processed in time.

The city assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to send a document to the landfill investor, Vietnam Solid Waste Solutions Company Limited (VWS), to clarify why workers stopped working on January 23. In April 2023, the company also had a similar situation.

In case VWS stops receiving and treating domestic solid waste, the City People's Committee assigns this Department to coordinate with relevant parties to immediately deploy plans to coordinate the collection, transportation and treatment of domestic solid waste to ensure waste security in the area.

Thu Duc City People's Committee and districts have a roadmap to coordinate to other treatment plants instead of continuing to transport here.

Regarding solid waste, there is a roadmap for coordination to Da Phuoc landfill. The city requires coordination to landfill No. 3 - Northwest Waste Treatment Complex (Cu Chi) invested by the City Urban Environment Company Limited to receive and process until there are new instructions.

The Department of Transport considers organizing traffic for all vehicles carrying domestic solid waste to run 24/7 to collect garbage; coordinates with relevant parties to adjust the route for transporting waste to landfill No. 3, ensuring safety.
