(GLO)- After more than 2 months of opening to welcome visitors, the Science and Technology Application Experimental Area (belonging to the Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances of Gia Lai province) has attracted more than 700 visitors to visit and experience .

The experimental area for the application of science and technology is considered a place to connect “4 houses”: scientific managers-researchers-enterprises-producers. This place has the function of actualizing research results, building demonstration models on the application of new technology and advanced techniques to popularize and replicate them in accordance with the locality.

The science and technology application experimental zone has promoted cooperation with universities and research institutes to carry out joint activities in research, training and application of new technologies in production.

Recently, the Experimental Area has deployed the production of 1,600 melon plants, 400 tomato plants and 200 strawberry plants in greenhouses; built a model with 2,300 melon plants in greenhouses; planted vegetable seedlings to serve the project: "Building a production model and a high-tech safe vegetable consumption chain applying IoT technology in Gia Lai province".

In addition, implementing cooperation with Van Dai Phat High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company on processing and cultivating MD2 pineapple seedlings in greenhouses with a quantity of 360,000 plants; implementing a honeysuckle planting model in the Experimental Area with an area of 360 m2... With these models, the Experimental Area has become a sightseeing and experience destination attracting a large number of tourists from inside and outside the province. This is not only a place for organizations and individuals, especially farmers, to visit, learn and apply in production, but also aims to build it into a destination to attract tourists; contributing to the development of community tourism, especially promoting the development of experiential agricultural tourism.

In the coming time, in addition to providing professional training for human resources to promptly grasp new technology, the Experimental Zone will also promote research and application of biotechnology and high-tech achievements in production such as: selecting, restoring, and propagating crops and livestock using biotechnology to create disease-free varieties with high productivity, quality and economic efficiency; applying cell tissue culture methods and cutting methods in propagating some valuable crops such as medicinal plants.
