Hai Phong City People's Committee has just recognized Do Son Tourist Area as a provincial tourist area.
On the afternoon of December 26, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Khac Nam presented Decision No. 2940/QD-UBND of the City People's Committee recognizing Do Son Tourist Area as a provincial-level tourist area.
According to the report, in 2024, Do Son attracted 4,300,000 tourists, reaching 113.16% of the plan, up 50.6% over the same period. Revenue from accommodation and catering services is estimated at VND 3,210 billion, reaching 102.07% of the plan, up 21.13% over the same period. Tourism continues to affirm its role as an important economic sector, contributing significantly to the overall development of the locality and Hai Phong City. Do Son also continues to upgrade tourism services; complete renovation and put into operation a number of key projects such as: Dragon Hill Tourist Area, Zone 2 Beach and inner-city routes...
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Khac Nam acknowledged the results that Do Son tourism achieved in 2024. At the same time, he noted that Do Son needs to build programs with highlights and create differences compared to other localities in 2025.
In addition, the Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee requested Do Son to consider and draft a document requesting the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to allow the sale of tickets to the Buffalo Fighting Festival to ensure funding to preserve and develop the Festival; and to recognize Ben K15 as a special national relic.
