Regarding Tay Mo 3 Primary School, where parents surrounded the school gate on August 21st to register their children for enrollment, the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District informed that after the separation, the school has 30 classes with 1,111 students (21 students requested transfers, leaving 1,090 students), and the school is not accepting more students due to insufficient facilities.
Parents 'besiege' school because their children don't have a place: reviewing and categorizing 460 application preferences.
The Department of Education and Training requires Dai Mo 3 Primary School and Tay Mo Primary School to publicly announce the list of students accepted for transfer and guide parents to complete the transfer procedures before 5 PM on August 30th to ensure organizational stability before the 2024-2025 school year.
Previously, on August 23rd, the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District announced the procedure for handling parents' requests and stated that only four public primary schools in the area could accept applications: Tay Mo, Tay Mo 3, Dai Mo 3, and Ly Nam De; the deadline for receiving applications was 12 PM on August 26th. Parents needed to submit an application to transfer their child to one of these four schools according to their preference.
By 12:00 PM on August 26th, there were 385 applications for transfer to Dai Mo 3 Primary School and Tay Mo Primary School, specifically: Dai Mo 3 Primary School received 287 applications, including 75 from Ly Nam De Primary School, 38 from Dai Mo Primary School, and 174 from other schools;
Tay Mo Primary School received 98 applications, including 17 from Ly Nam De Primary School, 19 from Tay Mo 3 Primary School, and 62 from other schools.
Previously, the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District stated that Tay Mo 3 is a public primary school for children in the ward. After splitting grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 and enrolling new grade 1 students, the total number of students is 30 classes with 1,111 students, exceeding the quota as stipulated (30 classes with a maximum of 1,050 students).
All students (grades 2, 3, 4, 5) separated from Tay Mo Primary School and newly enrolled (grade 1) are from Tay Mo Ward, within the designated enrollment area (belonging to residential groups 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and buildings without established residential groups in Vinhomes Smart City urban area, Tay Mo Ward).
First-grade students were enrolled according to regulations and eligibility criteria, with a target enrollment of 400. However, due to rapid population growth, enrollment exceeded the target by 60 students (460 students, divided into 13 classes). Those who did not submit their applications within the specified timeframe were considered to have no interest.
Nevertheless, 520 parents still applied for their children to attend Tay Mo 3 Primary School because the school was close to their homes, but they were unaware of the enrollment schedule.
