(Dan Tri) - After a business trip, Mr. Trinh Van Hung quit his job to become a real estate broker. Starting from scratch, Mr. Hung gradually asserted himself in his work and is currently the director of a project distribution floor in the North.

From engineering management to real estate brokerage
Starting out as a Polytechnic student, Mr. Van Hung spent many years working in the engineering industry before fate brought him to the real estate brokerage profession. During a business trip to Ha Long ( Quang Ninh ) 6 years ago, he realized that the coastal resort real estate segment here was heavily invested and had potential for future development.
After 3 days of market research, when he returned to Hanoi , he decided to quit his job to become a real estate broker. "When working in the manufacturing sector, because the work was repetitive every day, I felt that there was no breakthrough in terms of personal development, relationships and income. That business trip helped me realize the opportunity to develop my capacity and finances," he shared.
Changing career at the age of 35, Mr. Hung's biggest advantage is his life experience and management experience. He has held many positions such as deputy manager in the manufacturing industry and managing his own business. This helps him accumulate communication skills and establish relationships with customers quickly.
However, with the real estate brokerage profession, Mr. Hung started from zero and became an employee like many other young people. "Compared to young people in the profession, I probably started about 10 years later. This job was new to me in terms of the consulting process, finding customers and real estate legal issues. At that time, I was almost a blank page, learning from friends who were a dozen years younger than me. I learned from how to research project information, convey messages to customers to how to advise," Mr. Hung recalled.
According to Mr. Hung, the real estate brokerage profession has a very high elimination rate due to two main reasons. Firstly, after a period of time without successful transactions, the income is not guaranteed, which will make many people discouraged and forced to change jobs. Secondly, the broker himself is not suitable for the profession.
"In the first 3 months, I did not have any successful transactions. However, I persisted with the chosen path and then I also had the first transactions with relatively high value. This motivated me to try and stick with the profession. At that time, almost every day I went back and forth between projects or consulted with customers until late at night," Mr. Hung added.
Persistence is the key to success
To stick with it for the long term, brokers need to clearly define their goals, make plans to implement those goals, persevere and constantly improve their capacity, from knowledge to skills.
