Festival atmosphere filled at Hung Temple

All the streets and roads in the province are filled with the red color of flags, flowers, bright lights and billboards and posters with the words "No matter where you go - Remember the Ancestor's Death Anniversary on the 10th of March", creating a joyful atmosphere for tourists to pay their respects to their ancestors.

Ms. Pham Thi Luyen, Quang Yen Commune, Song Lo District, Vinh Phuc Province, said that taking advantage of the day off, she and her family prepared offerings and went to Hung Temple to burn incense to commemorate the merits of their ancestors and pray for health and peace. The family was very happy to see and participate in many activities taking place at the Hung Temple Relic Site. Because it was a day off, many tourists flocked to the Relic Site, making the festival atmosphere even more exciting.

According to the Management Board of Hung Temple Relic Site, before the main Hung King's death anniversary in the year of Giap Thin 2024, Phu Tho welcomed tens of thousands of people and tourists from all over the country to the Hung Temple. Especially during the two weekend days (April 13-14, or March 5-6 of the lunar calendar), the number of visitors from all over the country and overseas Vietnamese making pilgrimages to Hung Temple increased dramatically.

Although the number of visitors to Hung Temple during these days is always increasing, with the experience of organizing and the sense of responsibility and high political determination of the functional agencies of Phu Tho province, security and order are always ensured; the festival atmosphere is always solemn and respectful.

According to Mr. Ho Dai Dung, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival 2024, when visiting Hung Temple these days, along with the incense offering ceremony - practicing the worship of Hung Kings, visitors can also immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere, learn about the unique cultural features of the Ancestral Land at the Cultural Camp held in the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site.

The ceremony was organized to ensure solemnity, respect, community spirit, safety, civilization, and economy with many important rituals taking place from the 1st to the 10th of the third lunar month (from the 9th to the 18th of April) such as: The death anniversary of the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and offering incense to commemorate the Mother Au Co; The death anniversary of the Hung Kings and offering flowers at the relief "Uncle Ho talking to cadres and soldiers of the Vanguard Army Corps; The incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings of districts, towns, and cities in the province...

The content of the festival is closely linked with cultural, sports and tourism events, forming a series of activities of the Cultural - Tourism Week, contributing to expressing the unique cultural identity of the land of the ancestors, promoting the potential and strengths of Phu Tho cultural tourism resources, creating attractiveness, attracting tourists from all over the world to attend the festival on the occasion of the Hung Temple Festival and visit and experience tourism in the land of the ancestors in the coming time.

Especially at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, many special activities are held during the festival such as: Cultural camp and exhibition, promotion, introduction of typical products; Mass art festival, Phu Tho folk songs; Orchid art display; Banh chung wrapping, cooking, and banh giay pounding contest; Lion - Lion - Dragon dance performance at the ceremonial axis area - Festival center and physical education, sports activities, traditional folk games; Procession of palanquins from communes, wards, and towns in the outskirts of the Relic Site to Hung Temple...

At the same time, many activities took place in the center of Viet Tri city such as: Exhibition of artifacts, world documentary heritage, books, newspapers, and photo documents at Hung Vuong Museum; Trade Fair and OCOP product display at Bao Da Stadium (Duu Lau Ward); Street music program "Viet Tri Livemusic" at Van Lang Park; ancient village Xoan singing performance from the 6th to the 10th of the third lunar month (April 14th to 18th of the solar calendar) at ancient Xoan wards in Viet Tri city; Open swimming competition at Van Lang park lake. Especially, the art program and high-altitude fireworks display at the Southern Stage of Van Lang Park on the evening of the 9th of the third lunar month (April 17th of the solar calendar), promises to bring a joyful atmosphere, serving a large number of people and tourists to the homeland.

At this year’s festival, the Organizing Committee has also carefully prepared food safety and hygiene, catering to the needs of visitors. In addition to the restaurants and hotels available in the center of Viet Tri city and the Hung Temple historical site, many households in neighboring communes have also actively registered with local authorities to provide accommodation and food for visitors. This year’s pilgrimage to the homeland will make people feel warmer because they can participate in many activities demonstrating the spirit of “When drinking water, remember its source”.

Up to now, along with urban beautification, the work of ensuring security, order and traffic safety to serve pilgrims to Hung Temple has also been directed by Phu Tho province to be completed, ready to welcome domestic and foreign tourists to attend the festival activities.
