It is forecasted that around the afternoon and night of December 11, this cold air mass will affect the northeastern provinces, then affect the North Central region and some places in the northwest.

From the night of December 12, cold air continues to strengthen and affect the Northwest, Central Central and some places in the South Central. The wind changes to the Northeast, strong level 3 inland, level 3-4 in coastal areas.

Due to the influence of cold air, from the afternoon and night of December 11, the weather in the Northern region will turn cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold. From the night of December 12, the weather in the North Central region will turn cold. The lowest temperature during this cold air mass in the North and North Central regions will generally be from 14-17 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 11-14 degrees Celsius, and in high mountainous areas below 10 degrees Celsius.

As for Hanoi, from the evening and night of December 11, the weather will turn cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 15-17 degrees.

Before the cold air strengthens, tomorrow (December 10), the North will have increased temperatures, sunny weather, cold weather at night and in the morning with the lowest temperature around 16-18 degrees, the highest temperature around 23-25 ​​degrees. In Hanoi, the weather will warm up during the day, with daytime temperatures ranging from 17-24 degrees.

After the cold air arrived, from the night of December 11, the temperature in the Northern region remained low for a long time, the weather was cold and gloomy with light rain in some places.

Notably, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that cold air will continue to strengthen in our country's regions, gradually weakening from December 16, and strengthening again on December 19-20.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also said that in December, cold air will increase in both intensity and frequency. It is forecasted that in the second half of December, the North may experience the first severe cold spell of this winter.

Due to the influence of the cold air mass combined with high-altitude easterly wind disturbances, from the night of December 10-13, the Central and South Central regions will experience moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. Heavy rain in the Central and South Central regions may continue. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Weather at sea : from the evening and night of December 11, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the wind will change direction to Northeast, strong level 6, gusting to level 7-8; from the night of December 12, the wind will gradually increase to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9; the sea will be rough; waves will be 2-3m high.
