In particular, the ENSO trend, according to the latest forecasts, will continue to be neutral until early 2025. At the same time, model forecast products from world climate centers mostly give forecast results of January 2025 rainfall in the region higher than the average of many years; the average monthly temperature is also approximately equal to or higher than the average of many years.

Regarding the weather and climate in the first month of 2025, Mr. Quyet said that during the first week (January 1-10, 2025), the continental cold high pressure will strengthen to the south and diffuse to the Southern region. From January 1-5, the low pressure trough will lift its axis to the north with the possibility of a low pressure area appearing in the southern East Sea. The northeast monsoon will have moderate to strong intensity.

Due to the influence of the above conditions, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City will have rain on January 2-3 and 4, and no rain from January 5-10. The day will be sunny and the early morning will be cold. The lowest temperature is generally from 21-24 degrees. Some places will have light fog in the early morning.

In the middle and last weeks, cold air will be active , strengthening further south and continuing to gradually diffuse into the region. The northeast monsoon in the Southern region will be active with moderate to strong intensity.

The weather in the area at this time is generally little rain, sunny days. There is a possibility of unseasonal rain with not too much rainfall.

According to Mr. Quyet, in general, the average temperature of January 2025 is approximately the same and not much higher than the average of many years; commonly from 25.8-27 degrees; in which the highest is 30-33 degrees; the lowest is 20-24 degrees. The nights and early mornings are chilly for many days.

At the same time, Mr. Quyet also commented that the total monthly rainfall is generally higher than the average of many years in the same period. In particular, the rain is concentrated in the first and middle weeks of the month with a few days of light to moderate rain, and the last week has little rain.

However, according to Mr. Quyet, because January is the peak month of the dry season, even though the total rainfall is higher than the average of many years, there are still very few rainy days.

On the 22nd, it was significantly lower, with a value of 24.8. The absolute highest temperature was 32.6 degrees, occurring on December 25; the lowest was 20 degrees on December 23.

At the same time, in the first half of the month, there were two large-scale unseasonal rains lasting for several days with some places experiencing moderate to heavy rain; in the second half of the month, there was less rain with mostly insignificant amounts of rain.
