Reporting at the conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that in the 2023-2024 school year, the capital's education sector achieved comprehensive results at all levels and fields of study, successfully completing key tasks and contents. The city has 2,913 kindergartens and general schools, an increase of 39 schools compared to the same period last school year with nearly 2.3 million students and nearly 130,000 teachers.
Students in the capital ranked first in the country with 184 students winning prizes in the national excellent student selection exam, 43 students higher than in 2023; many students won prizes in international exams, especially 2 students won 2 gold medals in Biology and Chemistry Olympiads...
The results of the city's high school graduation exam this year continued to have a strong change with 99.81% of students graduating, an increase of 0.25% and 5 ranks compared to 2023 (from 16th place to 11th place), in which, the graduation rate of the continuing education sector reached 99.12%, 2.24% higher than the graduation rate of continuing education nationwide, the highest result in the past 5 years.
Hanoi is the locality with the highest number of 10-point exams in the country with 915 10-point exams, 1 candidate achieved the highest total exam score in the country (57.85 points). In addition, students in the capital also won 339 medals, ranking 2nd overall at the 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival.
Notably, in the 2023-2024 school year, schools admitted 200 students to the Party, twice as many as in the previous school year. Investment in infrastructure continues to be strengthened. Nearly 80% of public schools in the city meet national standards.
