(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the morning of August 8, Director of Son Tinh District Medical Center Mai Huu Hau said that the center had received and performed a general examination on a woman named NTP. The examination results showed that this woman's body did not have any nails as the information that has been spreading on social networks in recent days.

Previously, a number of social networking sites posted a clip recording the image of a woman pulling out a rusty nail about 3cm long from an open wound on her left arm. Along with that, there were rumors that there were dozens of nails protruding from this woman's arm.

Through verification by the authorities, the woman in the clip is Ms. NTP, from Mo Duc district. At the time the clip appeared on social media, this person was in Tinh Tho commune (Son Tinh). Since the clip went viral, many curious people came to watch and many unfounded rumors appeared. Upon receiving the information, the People's Committee of Tinh Tho commune directed the commune police to go to the scene to investigate the incident.

Chairman of Tinh Tho Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Vy affirmed that the information spread on social media in recent days is not accurate. There is no story of dozens of nails growing out of Ms. NTP's arm. The police force checked Ms. P's residence and discovered a plastic bag containing many rusty nails. The rumor may have originated from here, fabricated by someone. The commune police have confiscated these nails.

“Apart from the nail pulled out from the open wound on Ms. P's left arm as shown in the clip posted online, we have verified that there were no other nails growing out of Ms. P's arm,” Mr. Vy shared.

During the process of verifying the information, on August 1, the People's Committee of Tinh Tho commune supported all expenses to take Ms. NTP for a health check at the commune health station and Son Tinh district health center. After conducting a health check, X-ray and ultrasound of Ms. P's whole body, the doctors confirmed that there were no nails in Ms. P's body.

“The test results showed that there were no nails on Ms. P’s body. The doctors and nurses disinfected the open wound on Ms. P’s arm. After that, they advised and encouraged her family to take Ms. P home,” said Mai Huu Hau, Director of the Son Tinh District Medical Center.

Also on August 1, the People's Committee of Tinh Tho commune hired a car to take the woman back to her hometown in Mo Duc district. "Ms. P has a neurological disease and often falls, so her body has many injuries. The nail taken out of her arm may have been caused by a fall and a nail piercing her hand. The local government has clearly explained the incident to Ms. P's family. At the same time, it is propagating to help people understand to avoid spreading false rumors," added Chairman of the People's Committee of Tinh Tho commune Nguyen Thanh Vy.
