Ha Tinh student football tournament kicks off in Hue to raise charity funds

The Ha Tinh Open Student Football Tournament was held in Hue City to strengthen connections and raise funds to give bus tickets home for Tet for disadvantaged students.

On the afternoon of December 16, at Uyen Phuong artificial football field ( Hue city), the Ha Tinh Association in Hue and the Vietnam Youth Union of Ha Tinh province organized the opening ceremony of the Ha Tinh Open Student Football Tournament for the 2023 Sao Vang Beer Cup.

This is an activity to welcome the Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels, term 2024 - 2029.

The organizing committee awarded souvenir flags to the participating teams.

The tournament takes place from December 16-23, 2023 with the participation of 8 teams (divided into 2 groups A and B), attracting nearly 200 players and coaches from the hometown associations of districts, towns and cities in Ha Tinh province currently studying and living in Hue.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union - Chairman of the Youth Union of Ha Tinh province Nguyen Hoai Nam said: "The tournament aims to enhance exchanges and connections between young people, students, and children of Ha Tinh who are studying and living in Hue; foster pride and love for the homeland and spread the humane and affectionate traditions of the land and people of Ha Tinh; call on units, businesses, and individuals to participate in supporting charity fundraising".

Right at the opening ceremony, delegates and players donated funds to support the fund to give bus tickets to disadvantaged students.

It is expected that the tournament organizers will coordinate with relevant units to donate more than 300 bus tickets and organize bus trips home to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024 for disadvantaged students from Ha Tinh in Hue.

Immediately after the opening, the tournament took place with the first match between Cam Xuyen team and Huong Khe team.
