Prosecuted Huynh Nhat Phuong for activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government

On the evening of November 13, the Investigation Security Agency, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department issued a decision to prosecute, detain and search the residence of Huynh Nhat Phuong (born 1982, residing in Binh Thanh District) to investigate the crime of Activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government under Article 109 of the 2015 Penal Code. These decisions and orders have been approved.

This is a new development in the process of expanding the investigation into the case of Activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government carried out by Tran Van Linh and Nguyen Thi Huong under the direction of the terrorist organization "Provisional National Government of Vietnam," with the plot to spread inciting leaflets and cause security disturbances on the occasion of National Day, September 2, 2024.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, Huynh Nhat Phuong was connected by Dao Minh Quan and other leaders of the "Provisional National Government of Vietnam" organization and appointed to the position of "Chief of the Political Warfare Department of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Tactical Command".

Caught up in fame, greed and illusions about unreal promises, Huynh Nhat Phuong has carried out many activities to sabotage the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This behavior is dangerous to society, directly affecting the political security and social order and safety of Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, the Security Investigation Agency - Ho Chi Minh City Police is continuing to investigate and clarify the criminal acts of Huynh Nhat Phuong, and at the same time expanding the investigation to thoroughly handle all related subjects in accordance with the law.

The "Provisional National Government of Vietnam" is a terrorist and fraudulent organization. Ho Chi Minh City Police urge people to be vigilant, not to believe and not to listen to the enticements and promises of those related to this organization. When discovering personal information or organization related to this organization, people need to immediately report to the nearest police agency for timely prevention and handling.
