On the morning of February 18, information from the Ha Tinh Provincial Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of Duc Tho District Police had issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and issue an arrest warrant for Nguyen Tuan Thanh (born in 2001, residing in residential group 6, Pho Chau town, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province) for the act of "Resisting a person on official duty" as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 330 of the Penal Code.
Initial information, previously, on the afternoon of February 15, the Traffic Safety Patrol Team of Duc Tho District Police was on duty at Km372+500 of National Highway 15A, in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district.
At around 2:20 p.m. the same day, Major Tran Duc Thuan signaled to stop a motorbike with license plate 38H1-268.10 traveling in the direction of Duc Tho - Can Loc. However, the driver did not comply and instead rammed the motorbike straight into Major Thuan. Major Thuan fell onto the road, suffered head injuries and had to be taken to the 115 Nghe An Hospital for emergency treatment. The motorbike and the driver fell onto the road.
Immediately afterwards, the police identified the motorcyclist as Nguyen Tuan Thanh.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Duc Tho District Police is consolidating the case file and handling the subject according to the provisions of law.
