Life is improved
Tra Vinh's per capita income has increased, with an average GRDP of over VND94 million/person. To date, 59 communes in the province's ethnic minority areas have met the standards of new rural areas and advanced new rural areas, with no more particularly disadvantaged communes or hamlets. Mr. Tran Sa Rang (Kim Son commune, Tra Cu district) shared: "Previously, Khmer people had some difficulties in accessing economic support policies and legal knowledge. Currently, thanks to the implementation of policies, people have been able to borrow capital to develop the economy and stabilize their lives."

The poverty rate in the province has decreased to 0.87%, of which the poor Khmer households have decreased to 1.45%. Mr. Thach Sa My, a prestigious person living in Ba Se A hamlet (Luong Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district) said: "The life of the Khmer people is more stable and exciting than before. Rural traffic infrastructure has been invested in and completed, schools are spacious and clean. Historical and revolutionary relics and cultural sites have been renovated and preserved".
The local Party Committee and government have promoted the synchronous implementation of many solutions, focusing on transforming the production structure to suit local conditions and adapting to climate change, promoting the application of science and technology in production, creating high-value products with brands and geographical indications. Tra Vinh has also actively promoted and called for investment in the Khmer ethnic minority area to solve employment and change occupations. Notably, the province has encouraged workers to work abroad for a limited period of time, contributing to increasing income and improving people's living standards.
Preserve and promote cultural identity
Currently, there are 134 Khmer Theravada pagodas in the province that organize Khmer language classes during the summer, with 1,029 classes and 22,799 students. Tra Vinh province has invested in building 8 ethnic boarding schools, Pali-Khmer Intermediate School, and Southern Khmer Language - Culture - Arts and Humanities School under Tra Vinh University, which carries out the task of training human resources in Southern Khmer language, culture and arts.
The province has 58 ranked relics (16 national relics and 42 provincial relics), including 5 intangible cultural heritages closely associated with the cultural life of the Khmer people. On the occasions of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year and Sen Dolta Festival, local Party committees and authorities organize practical activities such as traditional meetings, visits and congratulations to organizations of the Patriotic Monks and Monks Solidarity Association, Khmer Theravada Buddhist pagodas, dignitaries, prestigious people and typical families of policy beneficiaries.
Venerable Thach Sok Xane, Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Tra Vinh province affirmed: "The Khmer people are very happy. The correct policies and guidelines of the Party and State have focused many resources to invest in economic, cultural and social development, build many traffic infrastructure projects, and implement many policies for poor and disadvantaged households."
Comrade Kim Ngoc Thai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tra Vinh province, said: The province has fully and effectively implemented policies to care for the material and spiritual life of the Khmer people, and arranged specific funding sources for each program and project. Thanks to that, the Khmer ethnic area has made important development steps, the trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State has been increasingly consolidated, encouraging the people to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements.
