CHANGE FROM NEW ROADS
Since the beginning of 2023, there have been clear changes on the main traffic routes of Vinh city, with more spacious and modern roads. That is thanks to the fact that all levels and sectors have devoted large resources to building traffic infrastructure with many key projects and works to help remove "bottlenecks" in traffic and flooding, such as widening intersections, preventing traffic congestion on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, the 18m road connecting National Highway 46 with Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard, Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street...

Many projects after completion have brought about positive effects, helping to improve people's lives and businesses. For example, the sidewalk renovation project on Nguyen Van Cu Street (from Le Hong Phong Street to Nguyen Sy Sach Street) has been completed and put into use, both preventing flooding and providing ventilation; the Bulva renovation on Le Mao Street; the renovation and embellishment of the traffic island at the intersection of Truong Thi, Tran Phu and Le Duan Streets...
In addition, the "trillion-dollar boulevard" project connecting Vinh - Cua Lo is currently entering phase 2 of construction, expected to be completed by the end of 2024. It will be the largest boulevard in Nghe An province, creating a strong traffic axis connecting the urban area of Vinh City and neighboring areas, opening up great advantages in the socio-economic development of the whole region.

In the Western districts, newly built, repaired and upgraded roads have become the driving force for economic development, trade and movement of people and businesses. In Ky Son district, one of the key traffic routes that has been completed and has had a positive impact on people's lives is the Muong Xen - Ta Do - Khe Kien route.
“Previously, in Na Ngoi commune, to go to Ta Do, Muong Tip, we had to go around Muong Xen town, through Ta Ca commune. However, since the new road was completed, we can go straight from Na Ngoi commune to Muong Ai, Muong Tip, shortening the distance by more than half compared to before” - Secretary of Phu Kha 1 Party Cell, Na Ngoi commune Vu Ba Tong expressed.
In the Western Nghe An region, transportation is considered the leading factor "leading the way" for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security. When the routes are opened, the people benefit first. For example, the Muong Xen - Ta Do - Khe Kien route was just put into use in 2023, helping to "clear the bottleneck" of difficulties and congestion in transporting goods and traveling for people in Ky Son district, shortening the travel distance between localities in the district.

In 2023, in the whole province, Muong Xen - Ta Do - Khe Kien road, section Km7-Km26, is one of many key traffic projects that have been completed and put into use. In addition, there are projects such as: North-South Expressway, section Nghi Son - Dien Chau; Coastal road from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Cua Lo (Nghe An) section Km76-Km83+500; Upgrading and expanding National Highway 15, section Km301+500-Km315+700 and Km327+600-Km330.
Nghe An currently has 8 national highways passing through the province; including 3 north-south routes, 5 east-west routes connecting to Laos and the trans-Asian route from Laos through Thanh Thuy Border Gate to Cua Lo and Dong Hoi ports. To date, Nghe An has renovated and upgraded 1,900 km of national highways. In addition, the 134 km North-South Expressway passing through Nghe An province has created a breakthrough in road structure, connecting Nghe An - the center of the North Central economic region with the whole country.
Efforts to speed up progress of major projects
Currently, Nghe An province is speeding up the construction progress of the remaining coastal road from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Cua Lo (Nghe An); the traffic road connecting Vinh - Cua Lo (phase 2); the traffic road connecting National Highway 7C (Do Luong) to Ho Chi Minh Road (Tan Ky); Upgrading and expanding National Highway 15, the section avoiding Truong Bon Historical Site; Renovating and repairing provincial road 539C, section Km7-Km16+500...

Regarding inland waterways, Nghe An is currently operating 8 routes with a total length of 263 km, effectively operating coastal waterways to serve the needs of goods exchange, travel, tourism connection, and intra-provincial and inter-provincial services. Along with that, the province has been renovating, upgrading and maintaining the exploitation of 84 km of existing railway to connect Nghe An province with localities on the North-South corridor.
