Construction of more than 1,500 houses for poor and near-poor households started

* Adjust the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to 1,733 houses

On April 18, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Ho Hong Nam inspected the progress of removing temporary and dilapidated houses in Song Cau town.

At the time of inspection, Song Cau Town had 58/66 households that had started construction and house repair (16 new houses, 19 houses repaired). Of which, 35 houses had been completed.

On this occasion, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and representatives of the Fatherland Front Committee of Song Cau Town inspected the progress of house construction at the households of Mr. Huynh Xuan Phuoc, Ms. Ngo Thi Sao and Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, all in Tho Loc village, Xuan Binh commune. At the families, Mr. Ho Hong Nam visited the conditions and circumstances of each family and grasped the process of assistance and support from the local government in the process of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. Thereby, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee requested Song Cau Town to continue directing Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to resolutely deploy, mobilize people from all walks of life to join hands, contribute efforts and money to soon complete the construction and repair of houses for households on schedule.

According to statistics from the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, as of April 17, the total number of houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province was 1,528 (1,070 newly built houses and 458 repaired houses). The total number of completed houses was 703 (358 newly built houses and 345 repaired houses).

* The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the adjustment of the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses of poor and near-poor households in 2025 in the province.

According to this decision, the total demand for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses of poor and near-poor households in the province in 2025 is 1,733 houses, an increase of 116 houses compared to the previously issued plan. Of which, the demand for new construction is 1,310 houses, the demand for repair is 423 houses. Compared to the previous plan, Tuy An district has 62 more houses, Song Hinh district has 5 more houses, Son Hoa district has 55 more houses, and Song Cau town has 10 more houses. Tay Hoa district alone has 3 fewer houses, and Dong Xuan district has 13 fewer houses.
