(CLO) On March 12, Dan Tri Newspaper coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs of Lao Cai province and local authorities to organize a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 4 Charity houses for poor and near-poor households in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, journalist Pham Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri newspaper, respectfully thanked readers and philanthropists who have accompanied the program of building Charity houses as well as the Charity activities of Dan Tri newspaper.

Editor-in-chief Pham Tuan Anh also shared that the project to build 100 charitable houses, launched in April 2024 and implemented over two years (2024-2025), has seen the commencement of construction on 95 charitable houses by Dan Tri newspaper since April 10, 2024. This week, construction will begin on 5 more charitable houses in Cao Bang , bringing the total number of charitable houses to 100, completing 100% of the plan in less than 12 months.

Currently, 73 charitable houses have been inaugurated and put into use. Dan Tri Newspaper will soon complete the remaining 27 charitable houses so that disadvantaged families can soon move into sturdy homes. Although the initial goal has been achieved, Dan Tri Newspaper will not stop there; the charitable house building program aims to build an additional 100 charitable houses in 2025 to commemorate major national holidays and the 20th anniversary of the founding of Dan Tri online newspaper.

"As the official publication of the Ministry of Interior , Dan Tri newspaper, in addition to its professional work, always prioritizes social responsibility. Dan Tri newspaper wishes to contribute a small part to social welfare, conveying the compassion of philanthropists and readers both domestically and internationally to poor and near-poor households, helping them alleviate some of the difficulties in their lives," Editor-in-Chief Pham Tuan Anh emphasized.

Representing the families receiving the "House of Compassion," Ms. Vang Thi Chuong (born in 1987, residing in San village, Quang Kim commune, Bat Xat district) said that her old house, built temporarily with wood and bamboo, was 8 years ago. The house, about 50 square meters, was home to her and her husband and their two children, who are in 7th and 3rd grade. During the rainy season, the house was on the verge of collapsing.

The House of Love, donated by readers of Dan Tri newspaper to Ms. Chuong, will be 75 square meters wide, built with solid brick walls, and include 3 bedrooms. From now on, she and her children can rest assured about a sturdy roof to help them weather the stormy seasons together.
