Groundbreaking ceremony for the new My Thanh flood overpass construction project

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the morning of April 18, in Hoai An district, the Provincial People's Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for the project to build a new My Thanh flood-proof overpass. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Kim Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Gio - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Tran Cang - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Nguyen Thi Phong Vu - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Doan Van Phi - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Delegates attending the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the My Thanh Flood Overpass Construction Project

The My Thanh flood overpass project is invested by the People's Committee of Hoai An district, with a total investment of about 150 billion VND. The project includes a bridge and a road at the bridgehead, with a total length of about 1,205m. The bridge structure is made of prestressed reinforced concrete; design load HL93; the bridge is 12m wide (with sidewalks), the total length of the bridge is 245.5m, including 7 spans, each span is 33m long; the road at the bridgehead has a total length of about 960m, located in An Tin and An My communes. In addition, the route has been invested in the construction of drainage works, drainage ditches, roadbed slopes, traffic intersections, residential roads, lighting systems, symbols of typical local products, etc. The project is expected to be completed in March 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized: The project to build a new My Thanh overpass is very important, meeting the expectations of the Party Committee, the government and the people of An Tin and An My communes, Hoai An district and neighboring areas; serving the needs of travel, transportation and exchange of goods of local people safely and conveniently; reducing traffic pressure through the existing My Thanh overpass; gradually completing the planning of local traffic infrastructure; especially, ensuring safe and smooth traffic during the rainy and flood season, serving rescue and relief work, protecting social security and order and contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh requested the project investor to closely coordinate with the locality and relevant agencies during the project implementation process; promptly resolve existing problems and obstacles in site clearance; create favorable conditions for construction units. Strictly implement the management of quality, volume, and construction progress, ensuring that the project is of good quality, meeting technical and aesthetic requirements. Determined to achieve the goal: fast progress - good quality - labor safety, in compliance with legal regulations.

Design and supervision consulting units must uphold the spirit of professional responsibility in consulting work for projects. Perform the function of supervising the author, supervising the quality, volume and progress throughout the construction process of the construction contractor, strictly complying with regulations on technical requirements and construction quality management.

Construction contractors must properly and fully implement the commitments in the contract signed with the investor, especially ensuring financial capacity, machinery, equipment, construction materials, technical staff and skilled workers to implement the construction of quality projects, ensuring the set progress. Regularly inspect and implement labor protection, labor safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention at the construction site and measures to improve the working conditions of workers.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh requested the People's Committee of Hoai An district to actively coordinate with the investor and related units, strengthen propaganda and mobilize people in the project area to support, share and strictly comply with the State's regulations to soon complete the project's compensation and site clearance. Relevant departments, branches and sectors should proactively coordinate to support and create favorable conditions for investors and contractors to implement the project in accordance with the functions and tasks under their management.
