On the morning of October 24, in Yen Truong commune (Yen Dinh), a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the project to restore and embellish the historical relic, the place where Uncle Ho visited Yen Truong Cooperative on December 11, 1961.

Thanh Hoa has always been a locality that Uncle Ho cared for and had special affection for. He visited 4 times, praising the achievements of the Party Committee and the people of Thanh Hoa in production and combat. On December 11, 1961, during his 4th visit to Thanh Hoa, President Ho Chi Minh visited and talked with Yen Truong Agricultural Cooperative, Yen Truong Commune - one of the units with outstanding achievements in the cooperative building movement of Thanh Hoa province and the whole country at that time.
Here, Uncle Ho spoke to more than 10,000 compatriots, cadres, party members of Yen Truong Cooperative and people's representatives of neighboring communes. He advised: "We must actively promote advantages, strive to correct shortcomings to progress, contribute to building socialism"; "make sure all people, old and young, men and women, have enough to eat, warmly dress, be educated and also make life completely full, happy and joyful...". To do so, we must "compete to increase production and practice thrift, properly perform all tasks assigned by the Party and the Government...".
Overview of the groundbreaking ceremony
To commemorate Uncle Ho's visit on December 11, 1961, the Uncle Ho Memorial Area was built and ranked as a national historical revolutionary relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a tourist destination of the province.
Representatives of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; district and commune leaders and contractors started the project.
In order to promote the great value of the relic site, preserve and retain Uncle Ho's mark on this place, on April 4, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1318 approving the 1/500 scale master plan of the project to restore and embellish the historical relic, the place to welcome Uncle Ho to visit Yen Truong Cooperative.
The project to restore and embellish the historical relic, the place where Uncle Ho visited Yen Truong Cooperative on December 11, 1961, has a total investment of 35 billion VND, including 8 main items and auxiliary works. The project is invested by the District Construction Investment Project Management Board and the construction unit is the joint venture of Khanh Lam - Chau Phat - Vinh Dinh. The construction period is 12 months from the date of commencement.
This is an important cultural project of Yen Dinh district. When completed, it will be a symbol of educating the spirit of solidarity and patriotic emulation; creating a highlight of the landscape, a tourist destination, and a place for people and visitors to visit and study. Thereby promoting the historical value of the historical site, the place where Uncle Ho visited.
