Groundbreaking ceremony of projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day

Delegates attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic site and the inauguration ceremony of the restoration and embellishment of Phu Le communal house, in Phu Le commune, Ba Tri district.

Attending the event were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Bui Van Bia, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission Le Thanh Van, Director of the Provincial Police Department Truong Son Lam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Ben Tre Province (on behalf of the investor) Bui Van Hiep reported information about the Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic site.

The project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3020, dated December 25, 2023. In terms of investment scale, the relic site has a total area of ​​about ^130m2 , divided into functional areas such as the central area, entertainment area, recreation area, restoration area, resort area; divided into 29 categories.

The Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic site is located in Phu Khuong hamlet, Phu Le commune, Ba Tri district. The total investment of the project is 89.983 billion VND, from the local budget. The construction of the Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic site aims to preserve the relics, synchronously connecting them to form a series of tourist attractions, introducing visitors to the historical traditions of the locality, and the typical marks of the craft villages that have been and are closely associated with the daily life of the people in the project area.

Next, Mr. Bui Van Hiep informed about the project of Restoration and embellishment of Phu Le Communal House Architectural Relic, invested by the Provincial People's Committee. The project has a total investment of 30 billion VND, from the budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025.

The restoration and embellishment of Phu Le Communal House Architectural Relic aims to preserve the maximum original elements of the relic; accurately restore the elements that have been missing or lost during the existence of the relic; return the relic to its original shape; and enhance the sustainability of the relic...

The project is in the process of completing the documents, expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2025. Phu Le Communal House was recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Monument in 1993 and is considered one of the typical communal houses in Bao Islet "First Phu Cuong, second Phu Le".

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi said: "The Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic site is of great significance to the economic, cultural and social development of the province. When the project is completed and put into use, together with other relics such as Phu Le Communal House architectural and artistic relic; Nguyen Ngoc Thang Communal House architectural and artistic relic; Nguyen Van Trac House relic; Nguyen Dinh Chieu Tomb and Memorial Site relic... will contribute to making the system of cultural and commemorative destinations combined with sightseeing and tourism in the province increasingly complete and develop. Thereby, attracting more visitors and tourists to the source, helping the local economy develop, improving the material and spiritual life of the people".

At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi launched the groundbreaking ceremony for two projects: the construction of the Lac Dia historical-cultural revolutionary relic site and the restoration and embellishment of the Phu Le communal house architectural relic site.
