At the lantern offering ceremony, each person personally assembled their own lantern, wrote their wishes, and, under the guidance of the Venerable Monks and Nuns, recited prayers for the well-being of their parents, relatives, and all people. Each lantern lit represented a prayer, a benevolent thought, and a peaceful intention for oneself and others. The lantern offering ceremony was held on the evening of August 29th (the 14th day of the 7th lunar month).
