Ms. Quang Xuan Lua - Director of Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center said that Ha Tien Culture - Cuisine Week 2024 will take place in Ha Tien City on the occasion of the 289th death anniversary of the founder Mac Cuu. Expected duration is 5 days, from June 29; location at Chieu Anh Cac Square.
Ha Tien Culture - Cuisine Week 2024 aims to promote communication activities to introduce tourism potential, images and unique cultural beauty of Kien Giang, focusing on introducing Ha Tien city on domestic and foreign media.
At the same time, through the cultural and culinary space of Ha Tien along with sideline activities such as: Ha Tien Food Map performance, Ancient tray contest on the occasion of Mac Cuu - Ha Tien death anniversary to promote, introduce images, information and tourism potential to restore and develop trade and tourism of Kien Giang, especially Ha Tien city.
Introducing Ha Tien cuisine such as: vermicelli dishes (bun ken, bun nham, bun xiem lo), stir-fried banh lot; steamed hu tieu + banh tam bi; crab cake noodle soup; herring salad; sour soup with lemongrass and turmeric (rich shark or rowing fish); Tram mushroom soup; sầu đâu salad; Ha Tien crabs (crab rice, boiled crab-crab, fried crab, crab hotpot, crab curry...); grilled chicken; boklhong; dried red fish + dried squid; fresh noodles + hu tieu; spring rolls + spring rolls; pho; fish, snail, and clam dishes; Ha Tien sticky rice (savory sticky rice, sweet sticky rice), mango sticky rice, durian sticky rice, xiem sticky rice); cakes (steamed buns, palm cakes, biscuits, steamed banana cakes, grilled cassava cakes, pig skin cakes, sticky rice cakes, sandwiches, water fern cakes,...); desserts (Kiem sweet soup, tamarind seed sweet soup, Thai sweet soup, white-green-red bean sweet soup, short bean sweet soup, black sticky rice sweet soup, corn sweet soup, cassava sweet soup...),... Besides, there are typical products of Phu Quoc city, Kien Luong district, Chau Thanh district, Bac Lieu province, OCOP products, typical rural industry of the province to enrich the space.

Dong Ho Ward with typical dishes: Ha Tien sticky rice, Bun Ken, dishes made from crab (performed in front of Bun Ken audience); Binh San Ward: Banh Bao Chi, Steamed Hu Tieu, Banh Tam Bi (performed steamed Hu Tieu); Phao Dai Ward: Sour soup with lemongrass and turmeric, Palm cake, crab paste (performed sour soup with lemongrass and turmeric); To Chau Ward: Tram mushroom soup, dishes made from dried shrimp, salted eggplant (performed Tram mushroom soup); My Duc Ward: Grilled chicken, Boklhong, Palm sweet soup or dishes made from shrimp paste (performed Boklhong); Thuan Yen Commune: Herring salad, dishes made from clams and pepper (performed Herring salad); Tien Hai Commune: Participated in the performance of dishes made from fish (grouper, cobia) and snails...
There is also a Death Anniversary Tray Competition. The performance of death anniversary trays aims to gather, preserve and maintain cultural values, community activities, decorative arts, and cuisine of Ha Tien region to promote the cultural life of the people and develop Ha Tien tourism.
Ha Tien City has a history of over 300 years, is a narrow strip of land located along the coast, with all types of terrain: lagoons, bays, plains, mountains, rivers, caves, islands, ... creating many beautiful landscapes. It is considered a miniature Ha Long Bay.
About 300 years ago, poet Mac Thien Tu composed “Ha Tien Thap Vinh” with Kim Du Lan Dao (Phao Dai Mountain), Binh San Diep Thuy (Binh San Mountain), Tieu Tu Than Chung (Tam Bao Pagoda), Giang Thanh Da Co (Giang Thanh Rampart), Thach Dong Thon Van (Thach Dong Mountain), Dong Ho An Nguyet (Dong Ho Pond)… Mac Thien Tu was also the one who founded the Chieu Anh Cac Tao Dan (in 1736) in Ha Tien - one of the oldest poetry groups in Vietnam. Nowadays, every Lantern Festival, the local government organizes Vietnam Poetry Day in this “brocade flower” land.
