Ukraine's weapons depot attacked by Russia, the night sky is lit up

Targets were attacked in the Khmelnytsky, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Rivne and Kiev regions. In particular, Ukrainian airports in Mirgorod, Starokonstantinov and ammunition depots in Slavuta were also attacked.

The Russian military carried out a precision strike on a large ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (part of military unit A1358). The depot is located southeast of the city of Slavuta. According to official data, both small arms and heavy ammunition are stored at this depot.

The strategic arsenal consists of at least six underground fortified facilities that currently store NATO-supplied weapons. The military facility is protected by several early detection and anti-drone systems, but Ukrainian air defenses were unable to repel the Russian attack.

According to public local reports, at least one Russian drone attacked the territory. Following the attack, a large fire and prolonged secondary explosions lit up the sky.

HIMARS missiles and depleted uranium shells were among the munitions destroyed. Earlier, on May 14, British-supplied shells were also destroyed by Russian missiles when Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Khmelnitsky.

Another target attacked by Russian drones in the Khmelnitsky region was the military airfield in Starokonstantinov. As a result of the attack, a hangar for a Su-24M fighter jet was damaged.

The Russian army is also stepping up its attacks towards Novokalinovo. According to AVP, from Krasnogorovka the Russian army crossed the railway line and expanded its control zone towards Novokalinovo.

The entire railway line from Terrikon to Vesely is now under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. This makes Ukrainian logistical operations very difficult.

The fighting situation in Avdeevka will be particularly tense in the coming days.

The situation southwest of Avdeevka is of particular concern. This area is strategically important as it leads to Orlovka and could block Ukrainian supply routes. Currently, Ukraine controls part of the territory in Avdeevka. Therefore, fighting in this area is expected to be particularly intense.
