Difficulty in arranging capital to bury the power line system

Báo Tiền PhongBáo Tiền Phong14/06/2024

TPO - Units of EVN Hanoi have conducted surveys and developed plans to put streets underground. However, arranging funding for undergrounding has encountered many difficulties.

The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch responding to voters' recommendations on developing plans and roadmaps for undergrounding and handling overlapping power and telecommunication cables in the city. At the same time, electrical cabinets should be arranged far from residential areas to ensure traffic safety, fire prevention and urban aesthetics.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, after receiving voters' petitions, Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) directed its affiliated power units to survey and develop plans to put streets underground.

However, according to the Corporation's capital plan for the 2021-2025 period approved by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), which mainly focuses on investing in the construction and development of the power grid, the funding source for undergrounding is currently facing many difficulties.

Regarding the work of clearing sagging power lines, EVNHANOI will direct units to proactively plan the arrangement of power lines that need clearing and refurbishment. As soon as the capital source is balanced, EVNHANOI will arrange to proceed with the clearing and refurbishment of streets according to the recommendations.
