Bridge between club and fans
Recently, SLNA fans are still familiar with the image of SLNA Communications Manager Tran Van Trung walking around all four sides of Vinh Stadium's stands after each match.
In particular, he also brought a portable speaker to shout and even lead the fans to sing and cheer for the Nghe An team. This interesting image also represents a new SLNA, full of desire.
Mr. Tran Van Trung attended a training course on building professional football organized by VFF.
Mr. Trung was a sports reporter for Nghe An newspaper. When he took up the assignment, SLNA began its reconstruction with a new sponsor and a completely new apparatus.
“Everything had to be rebuilt from scratch. From changing the identity, rebuilding the media channel system, connecting with press agencies, recruiting and training staff, purchasing equipment, calling for sponsors, reconnecting with fan clubs, building a ticketing software system, an online store, working with partners on costumes…”.
According to the Head of SLNA Communications, everything has gradually become routine, but he is not allowed to be satisfied. “SLNA has a glorious tradition, this invisibly creates great pressure on those who come after.
Besides, the love of Nghe An fans is extremely strong, so media work also requires tact and meticulousness to help everyone understand and support the new direction of the team," he shared.
Captain Tran Huong Tra is gradually getting used to the job of doing communications for the football team.
Like Tran Van Trung, the female media officer of the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) - Captain Tran Huong Tra also comes from a reporter background.
She was originally an editor for ANTĐ TV channel. When the CAHN football team (formerly the People's Public Security) won promotion to the V-League, she was transferred to support CAHN in building an image for the professional playground.
She said that the workload in the early days was huge because everything was new. Although she had worked in the press for nearly 10 years, football media was different from security and order issues, and the target audience was also different. Therefore, she had to work and study at the same time to complete the task.
Captain Tra added that, in addition to being the focal point for connecting the press to cover the club and players, she also builds, supports, and controls content related to the club, and hosts or MCs some media content on social platforms.
“The biggest challenge is to convey the club’s spirit to the fans as accurately and truthfully as possible. Although CAHN is a new team, it was once a monument, so the media also needs to focus on the pride of the past. How to combine new and old materials into a good product always makes me think,” Captain Tra expressed.
Unlike the two characters above, Mr. Dao Viet Anh (former editor of K+ Television), media officer of Hanoi Club, inherited a solid media foundation from his predecessor when he took over the job at Hang Day Stadium in 2010. But that does not mean he does not have to face pressure.
“At Hanoi Club, we still jokingly say that not winning the championship is a failure. But beyond expertise, all activities of the team are held to very high standards, very professionally, including the media. That is why the team's media team constantly has to research and learn new ways of doing things and new technologies.
The media team has to meet twice a day, in the morning and late afternoon. The morning meeting is to plan the production of all kinds of publications, from articles, videos, and banners, while the afternoon meeting is to review and learn from experience. For big programs, the media team has to work all night for many days.
Do it for passion

The common point of Mr. Tran Van Trung, Dao Viet Anh and Captain Tran Huong Tra is that they all work in a professional football environment with many challenges and pressures. However, all three affirm that they are happy with their current jobs, despite the many difficulties.
“Not only I had difficulties, the team leaders did too, everything was so new. But despite the pressure, I still felt happy,” Captain Tra confided.
In addition, the female CAHN officer also admitted that she had many interesting experiences when participating in football life: "After seeing the club's media products create good effects on social networking platforms, arousing the trust and love of loyal fans who have loved the name CAHN for nearly 2 decades, and the enthusiastic support from young fans and their families of 2, 3 generations cheering for football matches at Hang Day Stadium, I feel really proud to have contributed a small part to this success".
Meanwhile, Mr. Dao Viet Anh asserted that Hanoi FC is not only his job but also his second family: “When I was 15 years old, I had the opportunity to become a professional player for Hanoi FC, but my parents wanted me to pursue my studies. Now, I am part of the team, in a different position, contributing to make Hanoi FC more and more professional.”
Working in media, especially for a football team, always requires many trade-offs. Viet Anh said he has almost no time for his family or personal life.
Also stemming from love, Mr. Tran Van Trung did not hesitate to accept the offer to join SLNA: “Like many people from Nghe An, I love my hometown team like my blood and flesh. Therefore, when I had the opportunity to become a part of SLNA, I almost did not take a second to think.
My greatest joy is when my team wins and the stands are filled with spectators, seething with the shouts of Song Lam.
