Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thi Anh Hong - Deputy Head of the Political Affairs Department, Provincial Police, represented the Director of the Provincial Police to present a Certificate of Merit to Captain Nong Quoc Duong, recognizing his special achievements in donating blood to save lives.
Previously, on April 2, the patient, Mr. Nong Van Tiep (51 years old), living in Chao village, Vinh An commune, Son Dong district, encountered a life-and-death situation when he suffered from esophageal bleeding causing severe anemia. In that context, the Son Dong District Medical Center had no more blood reserves (blood type A+) and the patient's relatives, including the elderly, women with poor health, and children, could not donate blood.
Faced with this urgent situation, Captain Nong Quoc Duong immediately appeared to donate blood, demonstrating a deep sense of responsibility and compassion.
Captain Nong Quoc Duong’s courageous action was not only a simple act of kindness, but also a testament to the spirit of solidarity and mutual love in the community. Thanks to his quick decision, the patient’s life was saved.
It is known that, up to now, Captain Nong Quoc Duong has donated blood a total of 12 times, including 5 times in emergency situations. He also actively encouraged his relatives and friends to donate blood, inspiring many others in society, demonstrating the role of the police force in building a beautiful image of a close and dedicated police officer.
Captain Nong Quoc Duong is one of 10 typical faces of the Commune Police who have just been honored by the Director of Bac Giang Provincial Police at the Memorial Area of Uncle Ho's Six Teachings to the People's Public Security on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the day Uncle Ho sent a letter to the Police of Zone XII, emphasizing the character of a revolutionary police officer (March 11), showing recognition and honor for his continuous contributions to society.
