On September 23, the People's Committee of Hoa Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An held a ceremony to commend and reward three citizens who bravely rescued people swept away by floodwaters due to the impact of storm No. 4 .

Over the past few days, heavy rain and thunderstorms have been occurring in Anh Son district, causing rivers and streams to rise rapidly. Many areas have been flooded, and many bridges have overflowed.

At around 3:15 p.m. on September 20, Ms. PTTh. - 38 years old, residing in Hamlet 8, Tuong Son Commune, Anh Son District - took her two children home from Hoa Son Commune Primary School.

While passing Ong Han bridge in village 4, Hoa Son commune, Anh Son district, due to heavy rain, the water rose too quickly, unfortunately the accident swept away all three mother and children.

At that time, Mr. Tran Van Dong passed by and saw the situation, shouted and jumped into the rushing water to save NPDM (8 years old).

Hearing the shouts, Mr. Nguyen Van Ly and Mr. Thieu Quang Tinh, who were nearby, ran out and jumped into the water to save NPTH (10 years old).

Ms. Th. and her electric motorbike were swept away by the water.

At around 7:30 p.m. the same day, rescuers and local residents found Ms. Th's body about 250 meters downstream from the accident site.

In response to the brave spirit and fearlessness of the danger to save flood victims of three citizens, the People's Committee of Hoa Son commune commended and rewarded them to promptly recognize and spread this brave action.

Immediately after being awarded, all three people decided to donate the entire award amount to support and share with the victim's family.

In an urgent dispatch sent to localities and units, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee - paid special attention to arranging 24/7 security forces to control and guide traffic safety for people and vehicles, especially at culverts, spillways, road sections, deeply flooded areas, fast-flowing water, areas where landslides have occurred or are at risk of landslides.

At the same time, people are strictly prohibited from fishing, collecting firewood, etc. on rivers and streams during floods or moving into flooded areas, downstream of dams, and areas at high risk of flash floods and landslides to avoid unfortunate human losses.
