- On the morning of April 16, a working group from the Department of Physical Training and Sports surveyed cat lion martial arts and boxing in Hop Tan village, Gia Cat commune, Cao Loc district. This is one of the contents in the plan to research, preserve and develop cat lion martial arts and boxing of ethnic minorities in Lang Son province.
Hop Tan village is one of the villages with tradition and preservation of cat lion martial arts, martial arts in the province. The village has a cat lion dance team with 20 members who regularly perform cat lion dance combined with traditional martial arts on holidays and Tet. In recent years, at competitions and performances of cat lion dance and traditional martial arts organized, the cat lion dance team of Hop Tan village has regularly participated and won many achievements. With these factors, the professional department of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proposed the Department of Physical Training and Sports to choose Hop Tan village as the survey location.
The members of the working group learned about the current status of conservation and promotion of the value of lion cat martial arts and boxing in the area; watched the village's lion cat team perform martial arts moves and boxing of the Tay and Nung people; collected relevant information...
After the survey, according to the initial assessment of the members of the working group, the cat lion martial arts in Lang Son has many unique and characteristic features and retains the national identity, typically using tools associated with production labor such as tridents, sticks, knives, etc. These are important factors for the cat lion martial arts to be able to develop on the original and standardized basis, spreading, in order to preserve the value; gradually building the cat lion martial arts and martial arts into a typical cultural tourism product of the locality.
Initially, the Department of Sports and Physical Training selected the Hop Tan village lion cat team as a location to organize training, performance and develop documents on basic techniques, how to organize lion cat martial arts competitions and boxing; organize training courses to improve professional skills... in the coming time.
After the field survey program, in the afternoon of the same day, the working delegation worked with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to unify the contents in the process of implementing the plan to research, preserve and develop cat lion martial arts and boxing of ethnic minorities in Lang Son province in 2025.
