The Ministry of Transport has just announced a survey on human resource training needs in the railway sector.
The Ministry of Transport said that implementing the Party and State's orientation on railway development and the plans approved by the Prime Minister, the Ministry is developing and completing the Railway Human Resources Development Project (the Project). In order to have enough data to research and develop the Project, the Ministry of Transport requested training institutions, enterprises and relevant agencies and units to provide information on the training needs of railway human resources in various fields.

Specifically, there are 14 training majors that need to be surveyed at the levels of doctorate, master's, engineer, worker/technician and training completion time. In which, the major of Railway Transport Operation Organization trains on planning and organizing train operations; establishing railway systems (works, vehicles, equipment, organization of exploitation apparatus, etc.). The major of Railway Construction trains on construction techniques, maintenance of railway works: alignment (plan, elevation) of railways inside and outside the station; foundation structure and architecture of railway floors. The major of Railway Bridge Construction trains on construction techniques, maintenance, operation and exploitation of railways. The major of Railway Tunnel Construction trains on construction techniques, maintenance, operation and exploitation of railway tunnels. The major of Iron Industrial Construction trains on construction of technological lines; Arrange human resources, machinery, vehicles, equipment... to restore, manufacture, repair, maintain and service railway vehicles and equipment. The Railway Vehicle majors train on locomotives, carriages, and railway traction; Railway Information Systems train on information serving train operations, customer service information, internal information serving operations and business; Signaling Systems and Railway Control Centers train on train control signals, transport control centers... Previously, the Ministry of Transport assigned the Institute of Transport Strategy and Development to preside over the development of a Project on developing railway human resources, including high-speed railways. In particular, the Institute of Transport Strategy and Development estimates the total direct human resource demand in the state management, project management, consulting, construction and operation sectors for the construction and exploitation of the North-South high-speed railway at peak is about 200,000 - 250,000 workers, including: 700-900 project management staff, 1,100-1,300 consulting workers, 180,000 - 240,000 construction and installation workers and 13,880 workers in the operation phase.
